Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Have any of u seen the candlelight processional at Epcot? Is it worth trying with 2 small kids. If we try for the 5 o'clock show do u think we could do without the dinner package? I hate to use 2 table credits just to be able to see it. We didn't spend a lot of time at Epcot last year. It is the park I know the least.

Great question! I'm hoping to go so I'll be anxious to see the responses. :)

We did the Candlelight processional way back in 2010, our DD was 5. She liked it, it was a little long for her. I am hoping to try it this year and my youngest will be 5. Back then the lines to get in without a dinner package were not too bad, but crowds have changed since then.

my family would surely revolt if I tried to do the CP, but they were bored during Festival of the Lion King. Brats ;)

Unless my man Darren Criss is the narrator, then I'll ditch my family and go fo sho :P:love:

I've been working on some preliminary park touring plans today because I am still trying to decide if we should add a day or just stick with what we have. As I work through these, I'm realizing Epcot and AK don't really lend themselves well to a structured touring plan. Both are parks that are designed to be explored and experienced rather than conquered. What do you all think? I'm thinking we'll set our fastpasses and adr's and then just work from there on those park days.

HS and MK are more about going from one attraction/show to the next so a schedule makes more sense. It was a bit of an epiphany for me this morning so I had to share. :)

My name mentioned in a Shenanigans thread...I feel honored :)
JT sign ups are still in the same spot. Indiana Jones store. Sign up early, first thing, to have your pick of shows. Then you have to be at that same spot 30 minutes before your show to get your Jedi robes and final instructions.
Any other questions on anything SW at DHS follow the link below to the official thread
I heard somewhere recently that they were adding a signup kiosk outside the front gate, can you confirm if that is true?
Thanks so much!

Hi y'all, how's everybody doing? I feel like I'm still trying to feel normal after last Sunday night...man getting older is hard!!

We've had a lot going on here the past few days to the point where I've barely been able to muse about my trip! Of course I'm still checking for an extra day to add to my stay but have not yet seen any extra availability open at CR.

I was talking recently to a friend who is going next month and neither one of us seemed sure about something. I was curious if y'all know. For breakfast and lunch at BOG, if I know my kids aren't going to eat from that menu and so I feed them something else first, do I need to make an ADR at BOG for 2 or 4?

I want to know this too, and if you go to a QS or TS and one of the party doesn't eat does the DP get deducted anyway?

Make the reservation for anyone who will be entering the restaurant, regardless if they will be eating. Totally fine not to order them anything but they need to be included on the ADR headcount :)

No, we did BOG breakfast and only ordered 2 meals for 3 people. They only deduct the number of meals you order at a TS as well, unless it's a buffet, or CRT since that's prepay I believe.

Hi All! We are Disney Virgins!! My DH and I are taking our 2 kiddos (4 and 6) 11/26-12/3 :earsgirl::earsboy: . We are driving down from the Charlotte area, and staying close on Friday, so we can make Check in day a park day!!! The kids are going to lose their minds!
Very excited to say, I got the FD. I jumped on it as soon as the Visa email came in, and I got the Standard View at CSR, hoping to be in the Cabanas. We wanted to be in POFQ, but that wasn't available so CSR it is :) My DH said we should wait and book later:lmao:. I was like; Oh honey, you just don't understand!
I have a couple of friends who are Disney veterans and giving me TONS of great advice. I realize that we cant do it all, but I do want to squeeze as much magic out of this trip as I can! I have created a tentative schedule, being told that I don't want to over schedule but to have an outline and a plan is a GOOD IDEA!
I wonder, can you make multiple Dining reservations for different resorts, while waiting to find out what the Extra Magic hours are going to be? I'm not going to burn a TS on breakfast at MK to get in early if they are opening at 8 anyway, kwim?
I had no idea how much there actually is to this till I started looking around here a few months ago, when people started talking about FD! Yay Disney!!!!

Hi and welcome! :) our first trip with kids was last year and had a blast! You'll get lots of good advice here as well.

You can book multiple reservations, but sometimes I had trouble booking 2 for the same time slot...sometimes it would let me, and other times it made me drop one to book the other.

However you can always create a 2nd My Disney Experience account to book some reservations under as well. I haven't done it, but I have read where others have to get around the 1 reservation per mealtime spot. Just make sure you cancel any you aren't going to use at least the night before otherwise you will get charged $10 no show fee per person.

Thank you so much!!! I would not have thought to create another disney account. I wonder if you just use another email to create the account? And... then can you have it swapped over to your account if that is the one you go with? Oi o_O

Yes, another email account, but same name and other info is fine. I've made ADRs under my name for friends going other times of the year (because when BOG dinner is available you grab it stat!haha) and they were able to check in using my name. As long as the reservation is for the correct number of people that's all that matters!

This morning I was beginning to look at all the special things at Epcot during the Christmas season and WOW! I don't know if 2 days there will be enough. With all the storytellers, special music groups, CP, plus the fact that we didn't really get enough time to explore World Showcase last time and were planning to allow more time for that this time. I don't know, this may be the thing that tips us toward that extra day. On the flip side, all these extras could just make Epcot feel more crowded and miserable with congested walkways and pavilions. What do you think? Have any of you done Epcot after Thanksgiving before? What was it like?

I'm just hoping to see more of the Workd showcase this trip, since our Epcot day poured most of the day away.

I say go for the extra day, you never know when you'll get the chance to be back at this time of year right? And the cost of additional days over 5 is so low, even if you only go a few hours it's worth it!

I haven't looked too much at the Christmas offerings at Epcot. Can you share what kind of entertainment you saw? I was considering doing candlelight processional. But I read a blog post from I believe Disney Dad andjt strongly discouraged it for toddlers. I don't want to torture ourselves trying to get my two year old to stay still.
