Has anyone been to Disneyland the week after Thanksgiving? Weve scheduled our trip to arrive the sunday after Thanksgiving and are staying through the week until the 6th of December. Hopefully most of the Thanksgiving crowd will be gone, let us pray! :worship:

In my experience, this is one of the slowest times of the year... And thus it is a great time to go!

Yep, went last year from Sun to Thurs after Thanksgiving. It was wonderful! Walk-ons to many rides (POTC, etc), 10-20 minutes for popular rides like Indy and BTMRR.

However, the Candlelight Processional is the weekend of Dec 3-4. Things start getting real crowded on Friday. Not sure about the rest of the weekend, but I'd guess crowded for the whole weekend.

HTH,
Bob

We went last year from the day before Tgiving until the Sunday following and we experienced almost NO crowds...it was really great. You'll have a good time.

We are gonna go for 4 days sometime that week also. Just trying to figure out which days would be best. Lets cross our fingers for a great week :)

We've done both Mon-Thurs and Tues-Fri the week after Thanksgiving. Both trips were awesome! It's a great time of year to go. The only risk is rain (it rained on the Friday we left the first time we went and on our last day the other time). Still had a great time though.

Well we're going in 2012. I figure we do T-Day at home, pack up the turkey for sandwiches then leave Friday eve. We have always done the drive at night. Then we have Saturday to rest, go to DT Disney (and Shakey's lol) and go Sun-thursday. Hopefully we'll miss the candlelight procession crowds. I've been seeing that it closes really early though-- anybody remember the hours that week? It hought I saw 6pm on some nights--ouch.

we will be there nov. 23-30....and from what ive heard/read, it was nice and slow, and practically like a ghost town the sat after t-day! that would be sooo cool!

i think we will do our beach days and hollywood the days before t-day....then hopefully have slower days in the park the rest of the time. :thumbsup2

We have been twice that week. It's slow. We love it. Parades every day. Fireworks every night. Christmas decorations all up. No rides on refurb either.

We have been rained on once. The hours are shorter I think it was 8:00pm most nights but I do remember a few nights were 10:00pm. But, with low crowds you really don't need the long hours because you can get so much done.

The trade off is that you might miss F! We caught it last trip because we arrived on Sunday and did the Sunday night show. Otherwise no F! until the weekend.

Anybody have any feedback on going the next week - 2 weeks after Thanksgiving?
In 2010 this would be Dec 6 - 10 (Mon - Fri).
I believe cast member parties will be the 6th and 7th after CP on the 4th and 5th.

THANKS!!

ScottJayhawk- That is the week we go most often. We love it. In the past CM party days have been great. CAP stayed open until 9:00 with very few people. If they don't run WOC those nights, it will probably be very nice at that park in the evening, because most folks don't bother with it after DL closes those nights for some reason. Mid week is best crowd wise. Fridays are always busy during the Holiday Season. Overall, this is a great week IMHO to go to the park.

Oh, it's awful, horrible...don't go!:rolleyes1 Just kidding. That's the week we go every year and it's fabulous. I'm just trying to get the word out that it sucks, so it won't catch on.

I agree with everyone above. I am a bit curious about the cast parties and processional. I've never had that be a problem. Normally all that stuff is the following week.

What is the candlelight processional all about? I was planning on visiting that day.
