We are flying in the Sunday after Thanksgiving for 8 fabulous days at "Our Happy Place" :sunny: I have never been this time of year before and we are going specifically to see the Christmas decorations!!

How's the weather then? Can we swim? Will we get to wear shorts and T's during the day?

What about the crowds at the parks?

Thanks!!!

Hi we are going the same week! I can't wait! From everything I have read that week right after is one of the slow times. I HOPE SO! I am so excited to see the holiday decorations! :wizard:

We also will be going the same time. We usually go in October and enjoy the Halloween party :hmghost: and the Food and Wine Festival. I can't wait to enjoy the Christmas festivities. :santa:

We'll be there too. We were there the same week in 2004 and I think it's the best time to go. The weather that year was PERFECT! 60's in the morning and evening and 70's during the day. It didn't rain at all the whole week. I don't like hot weather so it was great for me. It was still warm enough to swim, just a little chilly when you got out of the water, but the water was warm.

From what I hear, the weather can be unpredictable, but just watch the forecast before you go andyou will be fine. Let's all cross our fingers and hope for another week like 2004!! :thumbsup2

We are going that week too. Staying at POFQ with Great Grands, Grands, parents, 3 4 year olds and a 1 year old. We are so excited. We have been there this time of year and it is great. Minimal waiting for anything and low 70's. We swam at the resort, but the water parks are sometimes closed. Had one 20 min rain shower and that was it!! We love the Christmas deco and Epcot has a great holiday carols by candlelight show that I would not miss!! Also-Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party is fun!!

We will be arriving the sunday after Thanksgiving also (our daughters 13th birthday) and staying for 11 wonderful nights. We were also there around that time in 2004 and practically had the place to ourselves :teeth: Everything was a walk on or maybe 2-3 minute wait. Temps were great, warm and only one day of a on and off drizzle. Being from the North also I'm glad it wasn't too hot, it was upper 70's most of the time, definately hot enough for us to swim. Hoping for the same this year.

We will be there too!!!! :cool1: We are arriving on Thanksgiving Day. Expecting crowds through that weekend but then smooth sailing the rest of our stay. Hoping for great weather, of course, but can't wait for Disney Fun!!! :mickeyjum :donald: :goofy:

I'll be there too God willing. Leaving Nov.24 till Dec.2 Doing a split stay POP and WL

Wow. This seems to be the time when everyone is going. :thumbsup2 Well, my family is also planning on going the first week after Thanksgiving. We usually go in October, but my mom wanted to see the Christmas decorations. I have read that it is a really good time to go. Yay for CHristmas in Disney!

That is our favorite time of year to go. The weather is usually nice, the kids love to swim. It was warm during the day, but we needed a jacket at night. It is beautiful to see the parks and resorts all decorated for christmas. The kids loved Christmas around the world in EPCOT.
have fun!

We will be there too. Taking the red eye out after turkey dinner and spending the first 2 days at Universal then 6 nights at Old Key West for our first time on-site. We can't wait to experience Disney 24 hours a day. :yay:

Nov. '98 Off-site Marriotts Cypress Harbour
Apr. '02 Off-site Horizons by Marriott
Sept. '02 Off-site Marriotts Cypress Harbour

We will be there also the week after Thanksgiving. First time staying at BWV and first time seeing the Christmas decorations and we will be bringing our two granddaughters with us. We can hardly wait! Planning on doing the MVMCP...have read good things about it. Hope the weather is great.

We will be there, too! Gosh, is the secret of low-crowds at this time out or what? I hope we haven't jinxed it! I'm pulling my kids out of school to go....

Right now we're booked at SSR but hope to switch to VWL at our 7-month mark. Either will be great - we're looking forward to seeing all the Christmas decorations and festivities! :santa:

That is our favorite time to go. We have gone four times the week after Thanksgiving. The decorations are beautiful. Sometimes it is chilly & I would not reccomend the water parks. I also bring a change of clothes & flip flops to AK for the rapids ride.

We are going from Nov. 22 until Nov. 26th but leaving that day. We aren't worried about the crowds though we are going for my 30th birthday not to ride all the rides- we go up about once or month with our season passes. I just want the atmosphere for my birthday.

We're arriving the Sunday (or Monday, not yet decided) after Thanksgiving as well. We've been this time of year once before, several years ago, and it was really nice.

We will be there the same time too. Arriving Thanksgiving day to drive down to Vero Beach till Sunday 26th to WDW through Dec 6th. Staying at SSR with my DH, DD4, DMIL, DSIL and her son. This will also be my first Christmas to see at WDW. Can not wait. This will be my DMIL, DSIL and her son 1st visit ever to WDW.

I came to this thread to start a topic about "week after Thanksgiving, how are the crowds" - we are arriving the Sunday after Thanksgiving too!

We have planned on using Sunday as a relax/resort day, then start hitting the parks on Monday when (hopefully) everyone else is back at work. Except for the bunch of us, apparently.

We went the day before Thanksgiving a few years ago and though the crowds weren't really bad the whole trip, when Monday came the parks seemed almost empty! We are from Ohio and thought the weather was great, but did see people actually wearing hats and mittens one evening at Epcot! Guess it's all in what you are used to.
