Weddings at the villas?

but how on earth do we get to the site in wedding clothes when we are staying at a villa without being seen in the resort?

We had an Intimate Disney wedding and they stressed that they wouldn't let you in places in wedding attire. When I asked for clarification, they stated that they wouldn't let you in the Parks...they don't want you confused for a Disney character. I thought this was amusing until a little girl thought I was Cinderella in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge. princess:

Granted, we were a "Disney" wedding, but I've known people married off-site, yet staying on-site. They had to get back and forth somehow. I'd double check about being at the resort.

The garden wedding at the park is a wonderful idea. Then you can get pics taken, go back to the villa and have coctails and hor ... I can't spell the formal word :) ... appetizers and then go to dinner...

The Celebration Hotel is also nice...their restaurant has gotten rave rewiews...

Good luck!

Do you know anything about the park in Celebration? It has been a few years since we were there, but I remember a very nice one. I just don't know how to check on going there.

I am sure they will have no problems with your coming and going in wedding attire, it is a problem with taking photos that are recognizible as being Disney.

As long as it is just from the villa to the car, I can't see that being a problem or anyone even knowing, just don't stop and make photos.

Then here is what I was going to do for Dinner afterwards...

Go to Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, and ask for them to set up an private table on the balcony outside (for up to 8 maybe, or maybe just 2..).

They ordered the wine with the meal, and it was outstanding.

Just an another idea, Goldi

So Diane...inquiring minds want to know.....what did/have "the kids" decided to do???
No decisions yet. They will wait until she is sure her kids can attend, and "when" is a known entity. They are leaning toward the Leu Gardents though.

Take some "non-wedding attire" wedding photos. Get some resort casual clothes that are fancy enough to be wedding like - Dockers for your son with a nice silk camp shirt. Maybe a skirt and blouse for your DIL to be. Without a bouquet and a big dress and tux, they can have some nice photos at OKW without setting off any alarms.

Actually, that sounds like a way to even take park photos!

Ever been to Nicollet Island? We did our wedding there in the park building - but it was a small affair. My second - so no big dress. And on a budget - so everyone just wore "nicer clothes" and my brother in law acted as photographer. All my wedding photos look like a nice casual photo shoot (I did have a boquet - but that is about the only thing that screams "wedding photos.")

Yes, I think that would be a wonderful place for a wedding! Actually, if my future DIL's EX decides not to let the kids go to WDW for the wedding, they are thinking they will come up to Minnesota to get married instead, and that would happen in our "lodge". ;)
