I am having my wedding at home - but part of my split honeymoon will be a Disneymoon at the GF. I hope that qualifies me to ask a question on this board.
My wedding theme is "forty shades of green". :shamrock:
It is a reference some people use for Ireland. Green is my favorite color and my fiance and I are both of Irish descendent, so when my mom suggested it, I thought it was perfect.

Here's my question. I plan to do save the date cards and would like to begin to incorporate my theme. How should I do this? What if I put "forty shades of green" right at the bottom of the card? Or I could just use green ink. I would love your ideas.

Here's my .02 for what it's worth -- I love that you have a theme for your wedding. "Forty shades of green" is great for the Irish reference plus it gives you something to base all your planning around and keeps everything about your wedding more cohesive. :thumbsup2
I don't think it's necessary to announce to your guests though that the theme of your wedding is "forty shades of green." If you put it together well, they'll get it without the obvious being stated.
In keeping with your forty shades of green theme you could definately go with a classy green stationery or a more subtle green ink for a save the date. It could kind of serve as a preview of what's to come.

One of the brides I worked with recently did a green/spring theme and used these magnents for save the dates.
Personally, I wouldn't announce the theme but I'd let it be my guide in all of my wedding decisions.
Happy planning!

My DF and I are getting married at home too! We are getting married on St. Patricks Day I am Irish and Although he is 100% Italian It was a date that worked for us. Carlson Crafts has a great green invitations with Olive Writing it just looked amazing we thought it was elegant and introduced the date well!

Thanks for your .02! That was my instinct too - but I didn't know how to convey the theme on the save the dates.

I love these magnets! They would work so well for me - since they are different shades of green. Do you happen to know where this bride had them made?

Those particular ones are from Carlson Craft (I am a CC dealer so I knew they carried them), but you can find similar ones elsewhere.
