Wedding off disney on

So long story short my disney wedding was supposed to be soon but the bride got cold feet and called off. After getting over my devastation I decided what better place to try to back on my feet then go to Disney anyway. As a physician I don't get much time off and I really want to make the most of this solo trip. I don't travel solo often so I was wondering what the best way to go about this would be. Should I try to meet up with other singles or just be a lone wolf. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've been wondering the same thing. My now ex-boyfriend was the WDW expert and has visited every year of his life. He got me hooked on the parks and taught me so much about them. We broke up a few months ago and at first I wasn't sure I would want to go for awhile, but now I am so eager to make my own memories there. My first solo trip will be in July. I think I'm going to just be a "lone wolf" for mine. I think I need it to be my own thing the first time there without him. I have traveled alone in general though a good bit the last 15 years and find it to be pretty awesome in some ways. It's nice to just be able to do what you want, when you want. I've met some nice people on here though who do solo trips there often, so it's always an option to meet up with people if you want.

Just don't let being alone hold you back! Some people think dining alone or going to a show alone would be weird, but I just embrace it.

As a former cast member, avid traveler, and a man, GO!!!!! You should take photos with every princes and blow the heck out of your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I'm doing a solo trip in mid June and have always had a great time with or without people. Have a good time.

I would take some of the money you were planning on using for the wedding and stay at one of the Epcot resorts. They're great for adult solo travelers! I'd suggest YC, but BW is excellent too. Personally, I really enjoy my alone time at the parks; you could always try to arrange a dinner or something with another solo traveler on here, or go to the pre-trip report boards and see if anyone else is going at your time that looks interesting to you and meet up with them possibly.

I would say, meet up with others if that's how you roll, or, if you're an introvert, go it alone. Either's cool.

I'd go lone wolf, but be open to talking to other folks in lines to help pass time or make some new friends. Discovering your own independence can be a great thing.

I second this ! I think all of the Epcot resorts are great for going solo, but I feel that The Boardwalk is the very best. I have already had 19 solo vacations. While I am happily married, my DH just doesn't like to travel, and I am obsessed with WDW. So, it works for us. DH stays home with our kitty.

As a solo traveler how can you het your pictures with the characters? I want to do this is September but not surenif I ask a CM that is standing there to just use my phone.

I have never had a problem with a CM taking my picture. You can ask the handler or even the photopass person. Really they will not mind and always willing to help. If you wanted you could get memory maker and not have to worry about asking but it really is no problem asking for them to take your picture. In a few cases the people waiting behind me offered to take pictures for me. Have fun

When I go solo I meet up with someone from the Disboards for a meal. Then we have the option of going on a ride together or meeting/eating together again.

Sorry to hear, but personally, I would just go and wing it...what ever happens in Disney stays in Disney, unless you get a photo pass....lol

Go scout around and find Safety Mom aka Kathy Werling...if you needed a guide my money is on her to tell you the places to be and when to be there. If you follow her on Facebook you will be able to see where she is that day.! Good luck, if it was next year I would meet up with you cuz money says I will be taking a solo trip too.

No matter what you end up doing, just do it with style! Disney Style that is.! Enjoy, kick back and take in all the sights and sounds you can. Mrs. Right will come along...

Solo at disney isn't really solo. You'll find other solo travelers, the adults will be around the resort bar to have some conversation but you'll find people to talk too all day long. The one time I went solo, I took the "I'm celebrating..." button and wrote in "WDW ALONE!". You'll make all types of new friends and cast members will notice..

I'm so sorry that happened, OP, but good for you for booking a solo trip! I was having a rough time of it last year, so I did the same thing...I packed myself off to Disney, and I came home feeling so much better.

I agree with PP's, you're never really "alone" at Disney. I've met so many nice, interesting people on my solo trips, and I am not a naturally outgoing person. In my experience, CM's will go out of their way to chat with you (I think they're secretly relieved to encounter adults who aren't either complaining or wrangling children) and other guests are more likely to introduce themselves. Last year, I ran into a fellow solo traveller at Columbia Harbor House, and we ended up spending the rest of the evening at MK together riding rides!
