hi all :wave2:
we are planning to be married at wdw next october(07)either at the yatch club gazzebo or sunset pointe but i am having trouble deciding where to eat around these locations :confused3 we are hoping to have our intimate at about 11 or 12 and will be wanting to wear our wedding attire
i would love to hear from anyone who has some suggestions please :)

Will it be just you and your new husband, or you, him, and guests?

If just the two of you, I'd go with either Victoria and Albert's (expensive, but very good) or Citricos, both are at the Grand Floridian.

With a larger group, I might also go with Citricos, they have a private room called the Chef's Domaine, up to about 10 people can dine there and last time I checked, the minimum expenditure for your party had to be $750...but this was a few years ago, it may have gone up.

V&A's also has a private room, a little larger, with a $2000 minimum.

Also, in order to wear your wedding gown, you'll have to go with a resort restaurant...they don't allow wedding attire in the parks.

Hope this helps! Have a great wedding. :bride:

What about Artist Point over at the WL? A group was having a rehearsal dinner there while we were having dinner and they had pre-printed menus. It looked very nice. I would imagine it would run ~$50-$60 a head. ETA They were not in a separate dining area, but I don't think wedding attire would be inappropriate.

If at the Yacht Club, go with the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Hands down, one of the best dinners I've ever had at Disney World. Very adult, very upscale, a little on the expensive side but not "snotty". We loved it. I think it would be a good choice. And you would be more than welcome in your wedding attire.

I would also recommend Yachtsman Steakhouse or California Grill.

Hey, I saw a whole wedding party, dresses, tuxs and all at - are you ready for it - Chef Mickey's! So, anything goes!

Interesting.

thank you for your suggestions :thumbsup2

aurora63,it will be just bride and groom and our 2 boys who will be 15 and 11 at that time :) yatchsman steakhouse looks like a good choice if we choose the gazzebo as i think it's near by :)
any suggestions for the poly :confused3

If you are going to be in the Yacht Club/Boardwalk area, then the nicest and most convenient place to have your wedding dinner would be Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. Flying Fish has wonderful seafood as well as one of the absolute best steaks on disney property, so all your guests would have a choice of red meat or sea food.

The atmosphere is very nice, in fact we have seen several wedding parties eating there. It is always fun to see the Bride and Groom come in with their guests.

My next choice after that, if you will be hiring limos for yourself and your guests to transport them to your dining spot would be Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge or Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge.

Hi,

I had an Intimate Wedding in 2002, and we also wanted to be able to wear our wedding attire for dinner.

I do think the Yachtsman would be a good idea if you go with the Gazebo. However, that being said....

If you go with Sunset Pointe, I would either pick California Grill or Citricos. From the Poly, you can just hop on the monorail (or use the limo, depending if your time is up or not) to get to the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary.

We went to the California Grill for our wedding dinner. We still had enough time left for our limo, so we had the limo drop us off at the Contemporary for dinner. There was a total of 10 of us there. It was a wonderful dinner, but a little too loud. When we went back for our anniversary, we ate at Citricos, and I would have to say that I thought Citricos was better. The food was outstanding (just as good as CG) and you have the added benefit of a quieter atmostphere. Also, the Grand Floridian, as you know, is just plain gorgeous and I think it will make you feel even more special on your wedding day to have your wedding dinner at the Grand Floridian.

Anyways, just my opinions.....if you have any other questions, feel free to PM me.

thanks guys :thumbsup2 some lovely suggestions :) it's so hard to choose from all the great places to eat

My first suggestion would be the Yachtsman Steakhouse followed closely by the Flying Fish.

I have seen wedding attire in the parks, but they had had a reception in Epcot near the Rose and Crown.
