Ok...be kind, I have been losing weight. I am down 25lbs despite having ordered it a size too small and am still working hard to lose more even though it fits now and I could very well wear it the way it is...

The sash is in a chocolate brown though it looks much darker in these pics. It is an Alfred Angelo dress. The veil I am wearing is the one I will wear the wedding day. It is chapel length and will have a bustle put in so I can also wear it at the reception.

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to ever wear my wedding gown :( It's brand new...still in the bag. I was wondering if there were any sites out there for people to sell their gowns? I posted on craigslist but wasn't sure if there was anything else I could try! If anyone has any advice that would be awesome! thanks so much

Sorry to hear that.

You can also try eBay or a consignment shop, maybe even look around on theknot.com or some other wedding planning website.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I noticed last night while browsing on The Knot that they have an area-specific section where you can sell wedding-related items. Do a search for your town and you can post it on a board there. There are also plenty of wedding dresses on ebay.

Thanks so much everyone! Wish me luck! Hopefully I can sell it!

For various reasons, I never really liked my first wedding dress... it was made for me and the seamstress did a horrible job.

Dh is taking me to Disney in January where we will celebrate our 10 yr anniversary with a vow renewal and I just put the deposit on a gorgeous wedding dress... this is just the store model, so excuse the back shots... I am not a size 8. lol

So we just returned from a quick 2 week holiday to the US, and while there I stumbled on a David's Bridal, and dragged FMIL and FSIL in to look at dresses! They were thrilled, well, for the first two hours, then I think they got a little over it! :rotfl:

But let me just say you American brides are so lucky! Dresses are so darn cheap over there!! I was looking at dresses at DBs for less then $1000, knowing full well that the same dress would be upwards of $2500 here in Oz! So I'm thinking about making another trip back... Just to buy a dress... Seriously, the cost of the flight plus the cost of the dress comes to a pretty similar price to what I'd pay here...

So anyway, here are some of the dresses I tried on: (Don't mind my obviously "thrilled" expression in most of these photos... I just never know whether I should be smiling or not, so I don't. :lmao:)

Almost decided on this one, but then I slept on it and changed my mind!

This one I tried on mainly just for fun. It was fun.

100_4819.jpg

Lots of fun :cutie:

I really liked this one too, it had a lot of the things that I wanted.

100_4851.jpg

I liked this one, but felt that it needed another pick up on the skirt, I just didn't think it looked like it was sitting right...

In the end, I loved all of them really. I ended up buying a dress. Hey, at those prices I just couldn't let myself leave the store. It's most likely going to end up being an At Home Reception Dress, but I love it. Photos do it no justice!

I also got a matching bag and shoes, but they're getting dyed, so FMIL should be bringing them when she comes to visit in July :lovestruc

There are actually more photos of more dresses somewhere... I just can't find them... I think they must be on FMIL's camera. That's another thing that makes American brides lucky! Taking photos of dresses that you haven't put a deposit down on is a big no no here! No cameras allowed in the wedding dress stores at all!

Which is stupid :headache:

Ok, long post finished... :rotfl:
