Wedding dinner delima

My fiancee and I are having an intimate wedding. Since we are not having a formal reception, we wanted to have a nice dinner with all our family! We are having the hardest time making a decision b/w whether to have the after wedding dinner with our 18 guest. Jiko or Chef Mickeys and we have never been to either one. We loved the food at boma and so we figured Jikos had to be good, but we are not having characters at our wedding and thought having a dinner at chef mickeys would be fun and a good way to get pics with the characters in our wedding clothes. We are also doing a wishes cruise after the dinner and thought this location would be easier to deal with than Jikos since the cruise leaves from the Contemporary. We are also on the DDP on our honeymoon and have and opportunity to try whichever restaurant later on on the trip. I know Jiko's probably has better food. What do ya'll suggest? Has anyone on here done either for a reception that can give me advice?

I haven't done a reception at Chef Mickey's but we did a big meal with 16 people. Its a fun place with great food. My only concern would be its pretty busy and it might be hard to get around in your dress. I would highly suggest getting a seating at a none busy time. This would be a great place if you have lots of kids attending. Have you thought of the character meal at the Grand Floridian? I hear lots of people have done that one.

we did the same thing, we wanted the characters but couldnt justify the cost so went to chef mickeys, there was 9 of us (no kids) and we had a great time! they seated us near the big window by the back so we werent stuck right in the middle. i got my DH to get my food for me cos i didnt want to risk spilling stuff down my dress. the characters were great, they kept coming round, we had a 5.30 seating so it wasnt too busy at that time. DF was happy cos he got to meet chip and dale!!
