Wedding Crasher: Lurkyloo’s 4 Parties in 3 Nights with 2 Cameras and 1 Fabulous Hat

The Italian restaurant looks fantastic, I love the decor and the food sounds fantastic!

:faint: I am so jealous that you had more of the peanut-butter marshmallow squares. I ate so many of those at our DP and was so sad to hear that they aren't around anymore. Saw that you posted the recipe as I made this post, I am going to attempt to make them at home too. So, are they only available on the special events menu at MGM?

So, is the super secret area they banned you all from taking pictures where they do the ESPN weekend stuff? When we were there last year they had the tall gates where you were standing in your shots by Rock and Rollercoaster open and the game area was set up back there with everything from football to video games.

Carrie, i'm loving your TR. I'm finally expanding my daily Dis experience beyond the Weddings/Honeymoons board, and found you here!! :goodvibes I'm so glad you enjoyed Tutto, we went last year and found it to be fantastic! :thumbsup2

Thank you for posting the recipe for the chocolate-peanut butter marshmallow bars. I am stopping at the store on my way home tonight to get the ingredients for them! Yum, yum!! :dance3:

(And I have to admit that I’m actually surprised there are no rice crispy treats in them…)

No need to resort to violence - here's the recipe for ya! :goodvibes

Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares Recipe

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
12 oz chocolate chips
3 cups miniature marshmallows
Peanut butter chips for topping (you might wanna stir some in with the marshmallows too)

Mix butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips in a double boiler just till melted, then remove from heat. Place 3 cups miniature marshmallows in a buttered pan and spread on warm mixture. Save a few chips and marshmallows to decorate the top, or be generous and add extra.

Cut in squares when cool. It's that easy...

OK, yes, this is a major problem with Basin soaps! On our honeymoon I bought one with a bride and groom in it, but after a few days' use the groom's head came off and they split up - eee! eee! eee! :scared1:

Is that the recipe from Disney? Our DP PB marshmallow squares had nuts in them and didn't look like the ones pictured. I took one bite and almost spit it back out. I think we were gypped. The caramel brownies we had were delish though and made up for them. I need the recipe for those....:thumbsup2 Do you know who I contact at Disney for those?

I was on the search for the bride and groom soap on our trip but couldn't find it. Sounds like a good thing though.

Yaaaay! :woohoo:

I must admit, I sniffed a little inside when I read that your dinner contained 'veal', but then I snorted out loud at the Tower of Terror Mickey hand pic :rotfl:

:lmao:That would be awful if you believed in omens! :rotfl:

Was your DH jealous about you being at WDW? I was thinking about that as I was reading your last TR update. I would be bummed knowing my DH was eating an awesome meal at Tutto and going to all of these great parties while I was at home (I would be happy for him though!).

actually Lurkyloo they are illegal to own in Cali.:rotfl:
mabye i missed it or i was rushing but why did you get to eat at a nice table while watching Spectro Magic....was it a sepical offer or something?
oh and i drooled all over my keyboard when i saw that dessert at Tutto Italia! its my fav.

Woo hoo more Lurkyloo!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:
You may have helped me decide where to have my bday dinner at EPCOT.....Tutto looked wonderful & that dessert too die for. If you were going to dine in EPCOT for your bday where would you pick---not Le Cellier because Eric has picked that for his bday.
Great pics of Fantasmic considering they were taken with your iphone. How fun does that dessert party look????? Way fun!!!!:thumbsup2
Loved the basin pics.......I just love those bath bombs. I always have to bring a few home for special occasions.

I am so glad you liked Tutto Italia. My BFF loves Italian and I have it down for one of our ADRs in Sept. I'm not a big fan because, like you said, most of it is like the Chef Boyardee kind. Those ravioli looked yummy. BTW your big toe really did something for that carpet. :rotfl2:

Why is it that when people are leaving DHS they all have that, 'Well that wasn't what I expected' look on their faces?

I'm sorry that the DHS catering crew was on vacation during your party. At least you got the PB marshmallow treats. They looked very gooey.

Isn't Ghirardelli's evil!??

Thank goodness you posted a link to your TR on mine. I hadn't even realized you had moved on to a new thread from your PTR! I am so horribly, horribly behind in DISing. Is it silly to be embarrassed about that? Well, I am. In my defense, I have been busy chasing small children around with a camera for the past month. And hanging out with puppets. (Tell Patrick that I had drinks with Ricky the Rabbit the other night and he says hello.)

ANYWAY.....I'm planting my butt on the couch to watch Jon & Kate reruns and catch up on your report riiiiiight now!

My famous DCL self came to visit your famous WDW self...we should be in a book together.....

oh wait...we ARE!!!

hahahahahahahahhaha
(ps, I ordered another from Lulu today for Ben)

:lmao:That would be awful if you believed in omens! :rotfl:

Omen Schmomen!!! On the day my husband proposed to me, I backed into a parked car (illegally parked BTW, not entirely my fault), I hit a dog driving through the country at night and 3 miles down the road, my headlights went out (yes, both headlights, at night). :rolleyes1 13 years later, we're still together!

Thanks to DISer WDWPolyPrincess’ trip reports, I had always secretly dreamed of taking a solo trip, even when I was planning our wedding and honeymoon!

I love Crystal's reports! They're the reason I was excited to spend solo time at WDW.

Worst. Gate Shot. Ever. …But at least I didn’t crash while taking it!
IMG_1360.jpg

Actually I love this shot - it's dark and gloomy, and then when you look at it for a moment you realize it's the wonderful WDW resort gates, and that's exciting. Or maybe I am so desperate for a WDW trip that any picture of any piece of WDW property seems like a Man Ray to me.

Finally I made myself lie down in my nap bed (I had two beds – why not designate one for napping and one for real sleeping?)

Brillant! :rotfl:

I am with you on the Akershus offerings....one visit to that buffet was enough to last me a lifetime. However Jensey's gorgeous photos make even the most fluügeny of gefiltefluügen look delish.

Speaking of Jensey's photos, the one of you in cognito at the Boardwalk is also gorrrrgeous!

I think your TR is the first I've ever seen with a review of Shula's. The only Swolphin restaurant I've made it to was Kimono's (which is PHENOMENAL). The food at Shula's looks good but the football menu is a little ridiculous  I would happily read my menu off of a goalpost if double baked potatoes and crab mac n cheese were involved. Yum.

My laptop battery is about to die and I just made the horrid discovery that my charger is busted, so I will return later to read more about weddings and cake!

Yes ferrets, sugar gliders, and pretty much any 'small animal' or rodent besides your basic mouse, hamster, rat, guinea pig, or chinchilla, is illegal here in Cali. Even gerbils. I've never seen a gerbil in my life.

There is one loophole though, with the ferrets - just a few hours away, in lovely Nevada, they're completely legal, and they don't check when you drive back. If you don't have any neighbors who hate you and want to turn you in, most likely you'll never get caught. It's also 100% legal for vets to treat them, and pet stores to sell supplies for them.

(So says the girl who worked at Petco for 3 years ;)).

Ahem. Anyway. There's your rodent and weasel history lesson for today. Back to the trippie at hand! :goodvibes

OK I stole my roommate's power cord and am back! Aha!

I have never gotten to meet PUSH, just the talking palm tree at AK. Taken out of context, the photo of a small child grasping a trash can in a loving embrace is hilarious! So is the photo of you sassing said trash can.

ALSO hilarious: your rendition of Clang Clang Clang. Horse doots, hehehehe.

These kids are lucky they don’t have to wear itchy hats with plumes in them like our band did!
IMG_1448.jpg

Whoohoo – go bells! This was me in junior high:
IMG_1449.jpg

Hardest working members of the band right there. People think it’s the bass drummer, but all that kid has to do is thump away at a big drum. The bells players have to carry 30lbs of metal and hit all the right notes.

Thanks for dredging up some high school memories for me. When I was fourteen we totally did Magic Music days, I remember marching down Main Street playing the theme to 'Star Wars'. In my itchy plumbed hat. Playing my heavy....flute. Nyah nyah nyah. :p

I felt so stealthy as I sneaked down the garden path to the back of the UK Pavilion when I was supposed to be exiting the park with the last few guests. The music led me to a Cast Member entrance behind the toy shop, but I wasn’t gutsy enough to poke my head in. I thought maybe the Cast Members were back there shakin’ their booties while they wrapped up work for the evening, but then a whiny teen pop ballad came on and that theory was sunk. I went back to taking random photos.

Oh I totally bet that's what they were doing. When I worked at Epcot in college, I picked up some shifts at the french fry stand in Canada. The girls that worked there were all a little bonkers and would blast the radio while dancing inappropriately in the back room behind the chicken mcnugget fryers. When a guest wandered up wanting to order, one of the frygirls would attempt to assist them, which usually consisted of explaining for ten minutes that we don't have any cheeseburgers and ending the conversation by yelling "IF YOU SEE MICKEY, TELL HIM I WANT A RAISE! HE PAYS ME IN CHEESE!" Apparently taking a semester off college and driving across the country to Florida to find out you'll be spending 6 months making mcflurrys does strange things to people.

I didn't realize you married your prom date's cousin! Or are you joking? Sometimes I can't tell :p

The meal at Living Seas Salon looks soooo goood.....I would've filled half my plate with buttermilk mashed potatoes too!

I love that the waiter in Italy chased you down with your dinner. I also think I love your dinner. I am adding Tutto Italia to my must-do list....

As I headed out of Epcot and back to my shameful resort parking spot, two cool things happened: One was that I ran into Jonni & Taz & Dani & Benji & Kiara near Shipwreck Beach at the Beach Club. The other was that a party was being set up on Shipwreck Beach (which is another possible Disney Wedding reception location) so I got to take pictures for my book!

IMG_1691.jpg

WHAT?! OK. I know where I am getting married. Or vow reneweled. Birthday. Something.

I blogged this one for DISer Philadisney because when she was on “What Not to Wear” Clinton and Stacy made her give up her Alice In Wonderland tote bag. Well *obviously* such a thing is now the height of fashion because it can be purchased at Tren-D!
IMG_0451.jpg

OR DID THEY? :rolleyes1

YAY! Update! I'm a day late and a dollar short for hilarious comments....sorry. I can't believe we're up to your last day! YIKES. I don't know WHAT I will do when you finish your TR. Who's next to read?...until Carrie goes BACK! Next time, I think we should do a "girls only" trip! That would be lots of fun! (see how I just invited myself to go to WDW with you?)

I am so jealous that you had more of the peanut-butter marshmallow squares. I ate so many of those at our DP and was so sad to hear that they aren't around anymore. Saw that you posted the recipe as I made this post, I am going to attempt to make them at home too. So, are they only available on the special events menu at MGM?

Well, we got them at our Epcot anniversary party just by asking, even though they aren't on those menus anymore. But then maybe I shouldn't recommend that because the chefs have obviously forgotten how to make them since they came off the menu! :rotfl: I didn't see them anywhere else at DHS, so I think it's only the special events menus that have them...

So, is the super secret area they banned you all from taking pictures where they do the ESPN weekend stuff? When we were there last year they had the tall gates where you were standing in your shots by Rock and Rollercoaster open and the game area was set up back there with everything from football to video games.

Oh, fine, I guess I'm not the first person to go back there - rub it in why don't ya? :lmao: It would make sense that they'd set all that stuff up there for ESPN The Weekend. There's a whole lotta nothing going on there!

Carrie, i'm loving your TR. I'm finally expanding my daily Dis experience beyond the Weddings/Honeymoons board, and found you here!! :goodvibes I'm so glad you enjoyed Tutto, we went last year and found it to be fantastic!

Yay! I'm so glad you found me! It took me a long time to venture from the Weddings board too. I started slowly, with the Restaurants board at first... :teeth:

Thank you for posting the recipe for the chocolate-peanut butter marshmallow bars. I am stopping at the store on my way home tonight to get the ingredients for them! Yum, yum!!

(And I have to admit that I’m actually surprised there are no rice crispy treats in them…)

I s'pose you could add 'em! I like them non crunchy, but they are really rich and melty - the krispies might give them a bit more substance. :thumbsup2

Is that the recipe from Disney? Our DP PB marshmallow squares had nuts in them and didn't look like the ones pictured. I took one bite and almost spit it back out. I think we were gypped. The caramel brownies we had were delish though and made up for them. I need the recipe for those....Do you know who I contact at Disney for those?

That is a recipe I found on the Internets, but it tasted so much like what I remembered that I have declared it the Oh-Fish-All PB Chocolate Marshmallow Square recipe. And it's certainly better than the ones they gave you - there are no NUTS in those things!! I'll bet you could ask your planner to get the caramel brownie recipe from the Epcot chef. Or maybe someone has posted it online. But Disney seems like the kind of place where they'd help you out with a request like that.

Yaaaay!

I must admit, I sniffed a little inside when I read that your dinner contained 'veal', but then I snorted out loud at the Tower of Terror Mickey hand pic.

I apologize for the veal. It was all hidden in the pasta so I didn't have to think about what I was eating. But if it makes you feel any better, I refuse to eat duck and lamb and bunnies! :flower3:

Was your DH jealous about you being at WDW?

Not jealous enough for my taste! :rotfl:

mabye i missed it or i was rushing but why did you get to eat at a nice table while watching Spectro Magic....was it a sepical offer or something?
oh and i drooled all over my keyboard when i saw that dessert at Tutto Italia! its my fav.

The Fantasmic! dessert party was one of the events held in conjunction with PassPorter's 10th birthday celebration. The travel agency threw it for us (and it definitely worked as an inducement for me to use a travel agency for the first time ever!).

{thud}....{drool} I'd like some of that!!!

And how! I can't even imagine how delicious that would be... because we didn't get any...

If you were going to dine in EPCOT for your bday where would you pick---not Le Cellier because Eric has picked that for his bday.

Ooh! Good question! Well Coral Reef was fun when they still did the diver with the sign, but I don't know if you can request that anymore. Let's see... Bistro de Paris is super romantic, but then so is the place in the Mexico Pavilion. But Tutto would be really fun too!

:rotfl2: Why, thank you!

Why is it that when people are leaving DHS they all have that, 'Well that wasn't what I expected' look on their faces?

Because they're leaving DHS...? :lmao:

(Tell Patrick that I had drinks with Ricky the Rabbit the other night and he says hello.)

Done! :thumbsup2

My famous DCL self came to visit your famous WDW self...we should be in a book together.....

oh wait...we ARE!!!

hahahahahahahahhaha

:rotfl2: Or at least get T-shirts made...

Omen Schmomen!!! Thirteen years, eh? :cutie: ...Great story!

I

I love it! ...And I'll take it!

I would happily read my menu off of a goalpost if double baked potatoes and crab mac n cheese were involved. Yum.

Don't give them any ideas!

I must go to Tren-D!!!!!!!

OMG - you are gonna love that place! It's pink pink pink!

There is one loophole though, with the ferrets - just a few hours away, in lovely Nevada, they're completely legal, and they don't check when you drive back.

And yet, they freak out if you try to bring in a ficus or an orange.... :lmao:

Alls I know is, my first-ever boyfriend's roommate had an illegal ferret who did nothing but poop and chew the heck outta everything they owned. Which was pretty much my boyfriend's MO too... :cutie:

OK
Thanks for dredging up some high school memories for me. When I was fourteen we totally did Magic Music days, I remember marching down Main Street playing the theme to 'Star Wars'. In my itchy plumbed hat. Playing my heavy....flute. Nyah nyah nyah. :p

Good lord, was EVERYBODY on the DIS in Magical Music Days except me? :sad1: At least you got to play "Star Wars"...

"IF YOU SEE MICKEY, TELL HIM I WANT A RAISE! HE PAYS ME IN CHEESE!"

Ah, teenagers... :rotfl:

I didn't realize you married your prom date's cousin! Or are you joking? Sometimes I can't tell

I really did marry my prom date's cousin! :goodvibes Here's the story of how we met...

WHAT?! OK. I know where I am getting married. Or vow reneweled. Birthday. Something.

Right on! Whatever it is, I'm crashing it. :teeth:

YAY!

Yeah, you're sneaky like that, Missy! :rotfl: Don't worry, my trip report is far from over.... so far... I don't think it'll ever be over. I'll just keep breaking each moment down into seconds and seconds into milliseconds - eventually I'll be describing nothing but cellular activity...

So the bad news is, Day 4 was my last day.... but the good news is, I have a ton of gorgeous Root photos of everything we did! It will take a while to post all of them...

Despite my late night of merrymaking, I dragged myself outta bed early so I could pack up and check out in time to have breakfast with the Roots in Celebration (don’t worry — the early hour hurt them a lot more than it hurt me!).

So long, Pop Century!

IMG_0456.jpg

I took the long way to Celebration just in case there was construction on Osceola Parkway, and I found the place all by myself!

I really liked this creek, so I took two mediocre pictures of it.
IMG_1726.jpg

IMG_1727.jpg

Just a few more of these, and then we’ll get to Root pix...
IMG_1728.jpg

Behind one of these doors lurks a ferocious, deadly, wiggly lil’ doggy!
IMG_1729.jpg

HUCK!!!!

There was some discussion on the blog about Huck’s indecent exposure, so I’ve censored it for ya!
IMG_0457.jpg

…And let’s just censor that double chin there…
IMG_0459.jpg

We got Huck a souvenir on our anniversary trip, but it took DH a while to get around to “embroidering” Huck’s name on it with white paint. I was so excited to finally give it to him that even MY butt was wiggling when he put it on.

350.jpg

351.jpg

Before we left for breakfast, I got to drool over some sneak previews of recent Root weddings (wiggly butt, drooling – I think whatever Huck had was catching!). And I got to see a bit of the amazing new website they have in the works, which was designed by adorable Disney-wedding-havers Justin & Lu!

Then we walked over to Market Street Cafe, site of two happy honeymoon breakfasts for me and Patrick and the place where you can have eggs benedict with a coconut cream pie chaser, just cuz you’re on vacation.

This is not Market Street Cafe, so don’t go looking for coconut cream pie here...
352.jpg

This is Market Street Cafe
366.jpg

353.jpg

POW!
354.jpg

355.jpg

We were seated in a nice window booth, and I called Jensey first, so I got to sit next to her—whohoo!

Here’s me explaining how to get SO hammered...
356.jpg

We tried that Disney tourist trick of wearing the same color so we could find each other in the crowd
357.jpg

My Eggs Benedict on biscuits with a side of grits
360.jpg

Jensey’s French Toast with a big honkin’ gob of brown sugar
359.jpg

Nathan’s some kind of sandwich, with bonus wiry black hair!
358.jpg

That’s right – there was a grody hair in Nathan’s sammich. Everybody say it with me: eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww! We told the waitress and she was not really as shocked as I’d expected, but we mostly just wanted them to know, not make a big fuss.

However, a big fuss is what they got when she informed me they didn’t have any coconut cream pie. Boooooo!

362.jpg

But then, a few minutes later, she reappeared and….

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
363.jpg

365.jpg

Unfortunately, the pie also came with a different kind of surprise—another wiry black hair! At that point it was less about getting the cook a hairnet and more about getting him some Rogaine…

The manager came over and apologized, and I think they comped us the pie and the sandwich, which was nice. But sheesh!
