My DF and I are getting married in Orlando and staying at WDW. WE are not having the Disney wedding (too expensive for us). Basically, we are getting married one afternoon at one of the chapels in Orlando. I want to get a small wedding cake for the 2 of us, is this possible? Has anyone done this, like for an anniversary or special ocassion? If so wher do I order it from???
I'd like to have it in our room or even at dinner. Any suggestions?

You might want to contact Guest Services at the Disney resort you are staying at.

I know the bakery at GF has done this many times for their guest.

you can order specialty cakes from most restaurants on property for a fee in advance. you can also buy a small one tier wedding style cake from the grand floridian bakery just call the main# 407-824-3000 & ask to be directed to the bakery.

You can definitely get the Grand Floridian bakery to make you a cake....The cakes are really pretty and are absolutely delicious! Ask the bakery to make a miniature wedding cake and you should be able to pick the flavors, etc.

The GF Bakery only delivers to restaurants and rooms at the GF, but I've heard the Boardwalk bakery and some of the other resorts will make them as well and deliver them to their respective resorts.

Here's my suggestion to make your night really special. My DH and I were married at WDW, but went back last year for our anniversary. We had them make us a wedding cake for that and had it delivered to Citricos in the GF for dinner. Citricos was wonderful about it...the GF delivered it there, and when we got there, Citricos had personalized menus for us, and after dinner, they brought out the cake and we also ordered some champagne. It was a magical anniversary dinner.... I would suggest having dinner at the GF for that reason.....makes it more celebratory than just eating cake in your room. I'm sure you'll be in your room enough since it's your honeymoon!! ;)

If you do decide to go with Citricos (which is a GREAT restaurant), make sure and tell them it is your special day! :goodvibes

Sigh... What a wonderful evening... :lovestruc

I am surprising my hubby with an anniversary trip and have been wondering about where to get a little cake. Does anyone have any idea what an average price would be for a little one-tiered cake (any guesses?)? :flower:

If I remember correctly, the wedding/anniversary cake they did for us was about $30.00.......well worth it, in my opinion!

You definitely can have this done. Call 1-800-828-0228 (toll free) and have the CM connect you to the food and beverage service department at whatever Disney resort that you are staying at. That resorts pastry chef will be able to coordinate a wedding cake from you. I am 100% sure this can be done at Deluxes b/c for our honeymoon we are having a mini-wedding cake made, and it will be waiting for us upon check in at the AKL in our room. The cost is normally between $30-$50 depending upon what you want in it, at least if you go through the AKL's bakery. If the moderates and values do not do this then you can always go through the GF's bakery, though theirs is slightly more expensive normally (at least the chef I spoke to mentioned this as did the CM's.) Also, if you go through your resort that you are at you won't have to worry about picking it up. The GF bakery does not deliver, but your resort (if teh cake is made there) can have room service sneak it up to your room as a surprise (like I'm doing for my DH) or they can deliver it at a pre-arranged time. Have a blast and congratulations!

O'kay, I can totally handle $30-50. Thanks for all of the info. Now I'm wondering, if anyone knows if you can pay over the phone when you order the cake?
