Did you like it? It was on the other night after Idol.

I thought it was quite clever and had some funny spots...even dh, who does not like much tv, was laughing. It is on tonight, which will be its regular night.

Just wondered if anyone else watched and what you thought...??

Yes, clever, quite funny at times (my wife laughed out loud a few times, and she is normally a chuckler, not a laugher). It was a bit too much the "pilot episode" though. I almost prefer the shows where they leave us hanging for a few episodes before we come to understand who everyone is, what they all do, and what all their "natures" are, rather than trying to cram that all into a single hour like Wedding Bells did. However, that just means that the second episode is likely to be much better.

We'll definitely be watching.

I was flipping back and forth between that and another show, when I heard the comment the two blonde girls made about being afraid of angry black people. I turned it off right then and possibly missed some context but I don't possibly see how that joke could be funny unless it's a show that makes fun of EVERYONE like South Park. ....too bad to becuase some other parts were really funny before that. I just thought that joke was severely innapropriate for the type of show it was (aka NOT a show that makes fun of everyone!) I thought the show was to depict the hilarity that ensues when planning a wedding (which i'm doing now). Throwing a racial joke in there was NOT appropriate. Can anyone tell me if I missed something context wise about the joke. Because I really thought it was not funny and terribly tactless and classless.

That joke did make a lot more sense in context. It also helped establish, very quickly, the idea that the one character is supposed to be a tough cookie and the twins were ditzes. Given that they had only a handful of seconds to make both points, I'm not sure there was a better way.

Darn it! I meant to watch but missed it!

Second chance tonight at 9PM. They're repeating the pilot, in the shows normal Friday time-slot.

I thought it was pretty good. I will be watching next week.

I really liked it! And the "scary black comment" was not inappropriate - it fit in the context..

I liked it. Refreshing to have something different from the lawyer/doctor/police/reality show genres that dominate television.

We watched! DH and I are not big on scripted TV but we enjoyed this. It had a few rough spots that I think were just because they were laying it all out for the pilot. It is already set up to record for the next few weeks.

Not sure how I will like the spoiled rich woman becoming the boss as shown in the previews. She was a bit too much over the top for me.

Loved the Tom sisters as the ditzy blonds--I was :lmao: over them. I hope they stick around a while. Delta Burke was also very funny. Has she really been that "stretched" or was that make up effects?

David is my hero, actually. Some talent, there.

I agree, their comments, in context, were more about making funny of the twins than black people.

I'm not sure about the show....I didn't like Russell and the whole thing with his wife (Terri Polo) and the chef and I don't know about the actress who was playing the sister who slept with the one groomsmen either. She seemed too young for the part.

I also didn't care for the rich snotty bride, she was a bit TOO over the top.
I don't know if I can take her every week if she's the new boss.

I loved David the photographer though and some parts were really funny.

I'll watch it a few more times and see how it goes........

I'll watch again.

The writers should visit the DIS for material. Lots of over the top wedding stories here. ;)

That's exactly what I was thinking. I enjoyed it as I expected I would. I usually enjoy David E. Kelley shows.

Nice eye candy too in both the photographer and the wedding singer. What beautiful eyes he has!

Why would anyone want to use "Someday We'll Be Together" as their wedding song though? :confused3

So, is anyone but me still watching?:confused3

I've watched all three episodes now and I think it's actually gotten better each week with last night's episode being very good. It's funny; it's touching at times and most importantly, it's different.

Sorry, but I didn't last past episode two. I felt it was worse than episode one.
