Wedding Bands (insp. by Elisabeth)

Thinking about Elisabeth and her fiance purchasing his ring got me to thinking about who has what.

I have a plain, yellow-gold band. I really wanted our initials and our wedding date engraved on the inside, so it ruled out having diamonds on it.

My DH has a yellow-gold band with a platinum stripe around it and a diamond mounted in it. I wanted him to have a diamond since he bought me such a beautiful engagement ring.

So, what kind do you have?

A brushed gold band. Our bands match. No diamonds or anything fancy. Both bands are engraved with "Forever and always".

We were very poor when we married. We're doing a little better these days

I actually have 2. My real everyday one kinda goes with my engagement ring. It is a curved channel set and my engagement ring is a pear shape diamond with a V of channel set diamonds.

Then I have a plain gold band that matches my husbands band. Those were made from the wedding band DH's grandfather made for his wife. We melted it down to make our 2 rings.

We both started out with plain gold bands (we were poor too ), DH still wears the same one, I changed to a narrower band and added an anniversary ring of diamonds and sapphires.

DH has a plain gold band, that is engraved inside. He wanted nothing more, and Im lucky I got him to get that. DH is NOT a jewelry man
Mine is a wrap to go around my solitare engagement ring. There are 2 diamond shaped diamonds on each side. Mine is also engraved

I don't have a wedding band. I just wanted 1 ring so my engagement ring is also my wedding ring/band.

DH can't wear his anymore since he broke his finger, but his is just a plain gold band.

My hands grew when I got pregnant. My ring is a size 4 and now I wear a size 6. So, it would mean adding more gold for it to fit. But I wish I could still wear it.

I have a plain platinum band, dh has a plain gold one. each is inscribed with our initials and wedding date.

I have two diamond anniverdary bands. When we got married, I got one with 5 diamonds across the top. For our 8 year anniversary, DH bought me an eternity band which I now wear. I'm going to take the diamonds from my original band and make a necklace for DD for her 16th birthday.

I have a plain, traditional platinum band. DH has a lovely platinum turks head ring.

I have a wrap around my solitare. Originally, it was 2 tiers of small diamonds, but we replaced the bottom tier with sapphires. DH has a 5-diamond band where the center 3 diamonds were replaced with sapphires. Everyone alwasy asks my where we got our rings, and it is so much fun to tell people we customized them!

Ours are matching engraved bands, with our names and wedding date engraved on the inside.

This came in very handy when my DH went to register our DD's birth and the registrar asked for marriage date.....he had to take ring off and look inside to check date .......
then registrar laughed and said well at least that way you ewont ever forgot LOL.
Sadly he came home and told me....at the time it didnt go down too well as we had only been married 2 years. Now it's a standing joke tho

DH has a gold milligrain ring and I actually have two. Initially we wanted them to match so my wedding set is gold milligrain and then a solitare on a milligrain band. I am not one who wears a lot of gold and after a while we got me a new set with just a plain white gold band and a sapphire and diamond ring to go with

Plain gold with an inscription inside. DH really wanted matching bands, while I really wanted a "pretty" band. We settled for matching plain bands, with a promise that he'll reset my engagement ring (solitaire on a plain band) in a "pretty" band for our 5 year anniversary.

Ours our plain gold bands. They both have the date engraved as well as a special message in each.

My engagement ring is a solitare with 2 smaller diamonds in the lower left and upper right. The wedding band fits inside with a upper left and lower right diamond (does that even make sense?)

In any case, for my, ahem, 40th birthday he bought me a gorgeous band with 3 horizontal baguettes on the left, next to 6 princess cut diamonds and then 3 more horizontal baguettes on the right. I really love it.
