Website issues

Looks like Olaf is roaming again.

ETA: Looks like a Disney thing and not a DVC thing. The main Disney booking site is saying booking is currently unavailable.

is anyone else able to perform any searches online?

Everytime I try I get the dwarfs after selecting the resorts and dates.

I assume this has something to do with AWS (Amazon) web services which is. heavenly impacted right now. If so DVC is not the only tech company being impacted.

Yes, I believe this is an AWS issue. When I first checked this morning (5ish eastern time) my Dashboard would not load and several web elements were missing from the page. But, I had a modification search up from last night that allowed me to keep refreshing. Now I am able to login and all web elements load properly but all my reservations are missing from my dashboard (they still show on WDW) and I can't search.

Hopefully they are just resetting some things and we'll be up soon.

When pulling up the dashboard, it shows no upcoming trips - which is not correct for me. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon. I've never seen this particular issue before on the DVC website. Oof! :)

Glad I'm not the only one, but geez, this is scary to have no upcoming trips listed! We're booked for a 2B over Thanksgiving and another 2B over spring break.

I don’t think they resetting anything. They rely on AWS and as long as aws is impacted we will continue to see impact.
True, but the issue is now a different one than what happened earlier (you could search and see current reservations). Also, you are able to see old reservations. I suspect they have taken search offline and instead of just preventing users from logging in it instead is presenting an error.

If they had taken search offline wouldn’t the calendar search also be unavailable?

To me the error doesn’t show until I actually make a search for dates, resorts and room types.

Same. I guess I meant the functionality of the search. Regardless, it is offline. It has to do with AWS. Whether they are trying to fix an issue that did not get fixed hen AWS came back online or not, it's off line for us all. Let's hope it doesn't last too long. I need to stalk for one last night on our Christmas week reservation.....

ETA: Seems Fixed now

I won't lie......I've been walking a reservation.....not because it's a difficult time of year to get.....the category is small.....but the website booking is ALWAYS having issues.....so rather then try at 8am on the date....it's easier for me to just book a week ahead of time and modify it daily till my date at my convenience. I know when a lot of people flood a system is causes issues, but I was on at 11pm on saturday night and the site was having issues. Disney IT is the worst lol.

I always have issues at night after around 10 pm, its just over, do you know if they just shutdown for the night?

They do not shut the site down every night. When they do maintenance, etc. on it it is overnight though and during those times they will lock members out. They used to put a note on the site about upcoming maintenance, I'm not sure if that it still done or not.

But, to be clear, last night the issue was not DVC, it was AWS. Many, many, many sites and services were affected (and some still are) last night.

They probably gave up on the notes because there would be a lot of them 🤣
