Thanks...she looks cool...but I still love the Magic!!

My DD is sailing on the Carnival Pride (used to be at Port Canaveral) out of NYC to Bermuda next Wednesday. She has been on DCL with us 8 times and this will be her first cruise on another line. Although she is only 15 she is very much interested in comparing the ships (expecially the teen programs) and reporting back to us!!! She is travelling with friends of ours...wish we could have gone as well!!

Yuck! That's the ugliest bow I've ever seen on a cruise ship.

It's probably a very nice ship for the passengers, but exterior certainly lacks the style and grace of the Disney ships.

Yes, I rather agree, Werner. I guess they had to sacrifice aesthetics in order to add all that extra gross tonnage to a ship that still has Pana-max dimensions.

FYI to those who might be looking at this thread after the Glory has sailed... here's a shot of what's showing on the webcam right now... (<a href="http://www.dcltribute.com/images/portcanaveralcam_640x480_20030712_1231.jpg">Click here</a>).

The web cam moved, you might be able to see the Magic go up the channel, if not go to twopalms.com and watch it sail by there.

Just returned from a drive up to the port to watch the Magic leave and to check out the Carnival Glory. NOT a pretty ship from the outside at all.....in fact it's hard to tell it's a new ship--I guess since it's all white. Just didn't have that "sparkle". The Magic was much more beautiful--of course I'm biased. I'm sure the inside is gorgeous but the outside leaves a lot to be desired!!!

I was with my daughter (gassmandy), and agree it is not a good looking ship. We saw it from the other side of the channel, rear angle, and it is big, but very Carnival looking. Looks like a very large, tall, houseboat! I have a few photos I took that I could email to someone with a websight to post them. Got one shot of the Magic passing the Glory with the stern of each ship in the picture. Still think the Magic is much better looking!
