Well, can you all tell me which I know Orlando is in a tropical location, that scattered thunderstorms for Tues. and Wed. of next week doesn't mean a total washout???:sad1:

Tell me that we are going to have great weather with a possible shower that won't last long at all and then the sun will pop out and be totally unbearably hot once again.:rotfl:

We are going to be there from the 15th-21st.

the summer season is quickly approaching, and that means the summer weather. This is probably the forecast for every day. It probably rains every day in the afternoon for 25-60 minutes. It clears, the sky is blue, it is muggy as @#$%, and the park usually loses some of the crowds. Have your ponchos ready or purchase a neat Disney poncho. We like to save a rainy attraction - something that is inside and longer. EX: at EPCOT, either Ellen's Energy Adventure, one of the movies in the countries, or American Adventure. Once over, the weather has usually cleared.

That is what I'm hoping for as well! I'll be there at the same time!

OT: I used to live in O'fallon, now I'm just a little further west in Columbia!

We're going next week too. Don;t freak out yet, it's too early.
On Friday the weather said it was raining the entire week, then yesterday it said sunny all week and now you say today theres scattered storms? I haven't checked yet.
The weather is not an exact science...especially trying to predict it on a peninsula. so don;t worry, it'll change 4 times before you egt there.

Honestly, it seems that pretty much all Florida weather forecasters will put some chance of afternoon showers in the forecast every single day. I ignore that part of the forecast. I mean, when you are in FL, the chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm is a given. Just as it's a given it will be hot.

I would not pay special attention to rain forecasts unless they are predicting an all day rain event.

This is from someone who lived in FL for 10 years and still spends about 6 weeks a year there.

You also have to remember that Orlando local forcast includes most of central Florida. It may rain in one place and not the other. I am going next week too. I can live with rain, but if it rains all day every day like it did last year when we were there, I will die!! Just hope for the best, and make the best out of it!! Scattered storms means a storm here or there. Isolated storms means just that, a storm in one place. Unless the forcast says 100% rain, we will probably be okay!

Is there any good spots in the parks that are covered but you can watch the storm go over head? May sound crazy, but its nice sometimes to watch the rain. It would also be cool to see the parks so empty.

Okay...silly Tammy will just hope for the best. Yes, see that the weather is just as unpredictable as here in Missouri! :rotfl:

Hope we all have a blast no matter what! Have a safe trip for those that will be there next week. :thumbsup2

When it starts to rain good...not just sprinkles, Most people will run for cover. So that makes for no really good spots, as they will all be crowded.
Now us, we love the rain because it clears the park. Everyone is just standing there waiting for it to stop. Inside rides and shows are still rolling. so we take advantage:)

Another voice of reason... The storms are nothing to be overly worried about. T-storms in FL are common this time of year. Chances are you'll be able to adapt to the weather. We did fine last year in the later part of May even though the rain was almost constant on many days. Forecasts show nothing like that for this year. We'll be there next week as well -arriving 5/20.

Thanks. We haven't been there whenit has rained much so I'm not sure what to do. When we are at DLR and it rains we keep on going. Watching for big puddles of course. DLR tends to back up on big down pours.

I've been worried about this too! It's been chilly and rainy here in Missouri for about a week and I dont want my DS5 first Dis experience to be a washout! :confused3 Let's hope it doesn't last long!

I'm hoping for no rain as well.............. but we can deal.......... as others have said, it tends to clear out the parks!!! Grab a poncho and go........ I just hope the luv bugs are NOT crazy bad.....................

For all of us there next week............. ENJOY!!! :goodvibes

Love bugs???? :confused3

Not sure if you are kidding or not............... but, yes, love bugs!!!! They are these horrible tiny little black bugs........ they tend to be everywhere it seems and I hate them!!! They don't bite or anything, they are just annoying. I just yesterday started seeing them here.......... and saw a post about them starting in fl. - they are seasonal I think.......... anyway, I hope they are not out in droves next week.

Not kidding, i really don't know what they are. :confused3 I don't think we have those here in Missouri or at least if we do, I've never noticed! LOL ;)

Love bugs are a FL thing...they are just annoying but won't hurt you. They are worse in the fall then the spring. Some locals said they started seeing them today, so they are going to be there, just hopefully not too bad.
As for the rain...well, FL it can be raining in the back of MK and not the front, it is just the way the weather is there! I wouldn't worry about it. Get some cheap ponchos (from Dollar tree or Walmart) and carry them along in your pocket/bag and be ready for a possible short shower daily. Now is the season of the quick afternoon showers. You will see the storm rolling in, just plan to be somewhere in the next 5-15 mins for when it hits and you will be all set. Have a great time...I know we are ready!!!

They are a La. thing too............... as stated, I've seen them here the last couple of days............ I'm pretty sure they have them pretty much all over the southern states.

Man, did you check out those high temps!
We might be praying for rain before week's end.
