Weather in the Gulf of Mexico

We are embarking on the 6 night Wonder repo from Galveston to San Juan in Jan 4. The weather looks to be chilly in Galveston when we leave (50F) and nice (70/80F) by the time we get to our first port (St Thomas) on Day 5. For the 3 sea days prior to St Thomas, are we likely to have sunny and warm or cold? I can't figure out how to get a weather prediction for the sea days. Thanks!!

I'm on this cruise. Are you curious as to what attire to bring or are you simply curious about the weather?

We did a winter cruise last year out of New Orleans. It was cold when we left Nola and 75-80 in Cozumel. The first day at sea it was warm enough to lay out but just barely. It got warmer as the day went on. Definitely bring jeans and a Tshirt with a hoodie or something you can layer with.
