Hello All,

I am new to the board and also will be a first time traveler to WDW! My family of 5 will be leaving Oct. 4 and staying in a cabing at FW. The trip is a surprise to my 3 boys and I have to say planning the surprise has been a huge part of my excitement! My husband and I thought the cabins looked perfect and are so excited to go to FW.

However, as I look at the weather forecast, I am a little scared....thunderstorms are predicted everyday!! For those of you that have recently returned and those who live in the area..does that mean a day full of rain or hopefully a brief encounter? I know we can't control the weather, but I sure hope it doesn't ruin our trip.

Also, how has Mickey Express and FW buses been? We have rented a golf cart - can you drive the carts to the WL resort and park them there? We have ADR at Artist Point.. Any reviews of that restaurant would be appreciated!

thanks for the help! JS:)

Welcome to the boards!! Be prepared for the best vacation ever! :cool1:

Rain is expected but no it usually doesn't rain all day. Yesterday we kept getting rain bans and big downpours due to a tropical system off the coast. After a good downpour the sun comes out. I suggest bringing ponchos and take shelter when you hear thunder. I swear we are the lightning capital of the world. Lost a tv this yr. due to lightning. Bottomline be prepared for rain but not for an entire day. That doesn't happen often.

HTH-have a fantastic vacation!!!

Golf carts are not allowed on the trail to WL. I would park it at the Marina and take the boat to WL.

October is still hurricane season, so keep an eye on the weather reports. Most thunderstorms last only a short time, but tend to increase the humidity.

Glad to hear you have a golf cart...we were there 2 weeks ago and wouldn't have survived without it. Also, they told us that only 4 could fit on the golf cart, but our family of 6 did fine (2 adults, 11, 9, 7 and 1 year old, plus our stroller). The buses and boat transportation were not too bad, since you have the cart, you don't have to wait for a bus in your loop to get to the main bus stops. Kudos for keeping it a surprise. I could never do that! Hav3 fun!
