What is the weather like in Febuary? Is it really rainy? What is the average temperature? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Rember wherever your at there you are........................................

We went in February a couple of years ago. It wasn't the rainy season, but the temps really varied. We would be in shorts during the day, but at night, it could get downright cold! Even a couple of the days were quite cold, and we were coming from snowy New York!

My recommendation would be to bring a variety of clothes, and to definitely have a sweater or lightweight jacket handy.

I second the opinion about a variety of clothes. When we were there February 2003 it was shorts during the day and sweatshirts at night. My husband thought it was too cold to swim but the kids and I were in the pool.

Then again, kids will swim in any temp, won't they? They'll be shaking and their lips will be blue and they'll stammer: "I'm n n n not c c cold!"

I loved Florida in February! December was cold! February was great! We arrived the day after a light frost. Warmed quickly back to the 70s. Rained only one day. Here is the averages from weather.com
Avg. High 73
Avg. Low 49
Avg. precip 2.72

record high 90
record low 27

So the temperature can vary greatly.

We have been during the first week of February the last 2 years, and Presidents Week many years ago. Here's a sampling of the Feb.'04 trip. Day 1-very cold!! I dressed in layers and actually borrowed a sweatshirt from my MIL (she lives there in winter) to add to what I was already wearing. I would say the temp was around 50 with biting wind. We were at MGM and people were swarming the shops for sweatshirts and jackets. On the other hand, our last day was downright hot!! Temps were in the mid 80's. In between those 2 extreme days the temp was around 70 and no rain all week.

We were in Disney the last week of Feb in 2001 and the first night got a little chilly when we were only wearing shorts and t-shirts at MK at 10 at night....but the remainder of our trip the kids swam every night and we sat at the pool in shorts and T's and it was quite warm all day....no humidity....

However friends went the week before us and they never put on their shorts cause it was too cold.....

I do not know where in Louisiana you are from, but the weather in Orlando tends to mimic that of southern Louisiana, just a day later. Therefore, as the previous posters have stated it is really a mixed bag, but think of it in terms of similar to what you are already used to.

I am from Lafayette, LA. It is about 50 miles off of the Gulf. It seems from all of the info you guys and gals have given me, the weather here seems to trend about the same as Orlando. We went during Thanksgiving 2003 and it was every crowded at the parks. The weather was great though. We wanted to attempt to go during Mardi Gras 2005. I believe it is a week or two before Presidents Day. Hopefully we can make it. Thanks for all of the posts.

I agree that the weather can be all over the place. I went in Feb 2002 and it was hot during the day, so hot, in fact, that we needed to buy some sleeveless shirts for DD because she was so hot. But at night, we would need long sleeves.
