We'd like to do a quickie 3 nt cruise in mid-late March or early April 2010 (not at Easter break.)

Can anyone describe the weather if you've sailed at this time?

We are currently booked in a SPH for 3/25 but now my SIL & nephew can come too and there are no more SPH on our sailing. We don't mind switching to another date that will allow us to both get SPH cabins. I'm afraid March 11 might be a little too chilly. We could also do Apr 8. Warmer weather but our SWA credits ($340 +) will expire on Apr 14 cutting it a little close. If we had to reshedule to to illness, etc. we'd lose that $.
We took our 3rd and final January vacation to WDW earlier this year cuz all 3 times were very cold. I'm just looking to feel some warmth and sunshine and escape the cold up north.
I really wouldn't even mind a Cat. 11 just to simplify things but dh likes the split bath (fam of 4) and really likes a Cat. 9 window. SPH is a nice compromise. I just can't see paying $3-400 more for a window for 3 nts.

I'd appreciate any input.
I feel like I'm overthinking this whole thing. :upsidedow

We went last year during the last week of March and the weather was AWESOME. Especially when you are just getting over snow/ice..

Castaway Cay was pretty windy, but it wasn't cold other than the wind. Everyone was still swimming and everything :) I would definitely sail again in March!

For at least one or two evenings it rained quite a bit and was pretty rough, but the weather all around was still great :)

Our first cruise was March, and as the PP stated, it was AWESOME. Perfect weather, warm ,sunny etc.

Personally, I would not spend the extra money, I would save it to spend on board, but that is my opinion.

Do you mean for the SPH? It's cat. 10.

We have sailed in March the last 2 springs breaks and the weather has been beautiful. The water was a little cool at Castaway Cay this year, we still had fun but the previous year the water was much warmer.

There are 2 sph rooms available for the March 18 3 night cruise.

We have sailed in March, September, and December and March is by far the best! We have another cruise booked for next March.

We sailed in early March and the weather was beautiful, but we found the water at Castaway Cay to be too chilly to swim. But we are from the south so we really like the water to be warm. This year I pushed our trip to early April instead and the water was still too chilly for us - but it was also quite windy during our entire trip, so that probably had something to do with it. Air temperatures were warm the entire time but the water currents were definitely rougher in April. Again, not sure if that was because of the winds or just a normal thing for April. Both trips were fabulous but someday I would really like to go when I can swim in Castaway Cay!

Oh, I didn't think about the water at CC. No one in our family swam, we just hung out on the beach and went biking at CC. I guess if you want warm water at CC you would need to go in the summer months. There were people swimming when we were there, but I am sure the water was cold.

The temperatures were wonderful for being on the island and just hanging out though. I don't like it to be really hot out. My DD and DH went on the 5K at CC and it was a really good temperature for that.

We just went on a 7 night cruise this March. The weather was gorgeous for most of the cruise; we had one chilly day (our last sea day) with very rough seas. Other than that it was perfect. I live in Florida and my blood has thinned out, so I hate going in cold water, but I thought that the water at CC was just fine. It was very hot the day we were at CC though, so that may have made the difference for us!

Yes, that's what so nice about the 7 nt cruises. You go far enough south that it's almost always warm. We did a 7 nt. in Feb once and it was beautiful.
With only a 3 nt I'm a little leary. Bahamas can be just as chilly as FL.
I know nothing is a guarantee but I don't mind waiting a little to make sure it's warm.
We've had such bad luck with Jan weather in FL that I've given up on FL being an escape from winter.

Thanks everyone for your feedback!:goodvibes

ps. Now SIL may not be able to come so we're keeping with our 3/25 plans.:thumbsup2 She said if she can add on later she'll take whatever she can get.
Why do I stress out about these things?

Our four nighter was March 22-26th. The water at Castaway was really cold but ok once you dared to go under and got used to it. Temp wise Nassau and Castaway were both in the lower 80's. The humidity wasn't bad at all. We usually do WDW during Easter and spring break in March and love the temps.

We were on the March 22 cruise with tinkmom2!! The weather was awesome! It was warm, not hot with a good breeze most of the time. We had sun the entire time. It did get windy several times up on deck, but not cold. Water in CC was cold, but people were still swimming. I wouldn't get in it, but like pp, I'm from the south so I like warmer water. I don't think you can go wrong with late March.

Good luck!!
