Weather In London.....?

Quite cold today and gloomy with the fog. Just bring plenty of layers of clothes, you never can tell with this country. Global warming a couple of weeks ago now it feels like the ice age is returning! :confused3

I agree it really has got chilly. I know that domestic flights have been cancelled due to the fog.

momrek06 - My Fiance is from Manchester and is a BIG supporter of Manchester United :thumbsup2

Looks like the fog is going to stick around for most of this week up until Sunday at least :(

The fog also seems to affecting flights in and out of Heathrow and Gatwick!

OKAY, now you are all freaking me out.......ahhhhh....... :guilty: We fly out Saturday night 7pm Boston and land YOUR TIME 7am but MY time 1am (6 hour flight)....sheesh...I hope we can make it through the fog...we will need RUDOPLH the RED NOSE REINDEER...not to mention I HATE flying....... :guilty:

Please, please give me some good news........... :guilty:

Seems to be mainly domestic flights into Heathrow, the news have mentioned Gatwick, Liverpool and Bristol. They are landing aircraft but not as quickly as normal due to not being able to spot taxiing aircraft and the little vehicles that pull the aircraft around. Keep fingers crossed everything will be OK. It was bad here in the Midlands yesterday cleared a bit at 4pm and then was back again by 9pm. Looks as bad this morning again.

Hi Momrek06! :wave2:

I thought I'd pop my head in and say hi! Momrek06 and I discovered through the disboards that we are arriving in London on the same day and have just about the same itineraries for Christmas Day. How cool is that? :teeth: Hopefully the stretch of fog will be over by Sunday morning. We arrive at 9:40 am from JFK.

I heard Werewolves of London on the way to work today. It got me really siked up. :rotfl2:

How cool to be coming to London. I'm not in London but the fog's been pretty bad here... and it's cold enough for me to have to de-ice the car to come home from work. Heard that all domestic flights from Heathrow are cancelled again tomorrow... but haven't heard anything about international flights...

Don't worry though... surely it will be ok by the weekend... We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for you.

Sorry I can't be more encouraging!

OKAY, now people, my son is flying down from Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday afternoon....do you think he will be cancelled...? Say it isn't so... :confused3 School is OUT, the dorms are closing ahhh...he will have no where to go. :guilty:
He flies out Saturday 13:00 to Heathrow.

He can't fly from Glasgow to Heathrow at the moment, but things should catch up fairly quickly once visibility improves... we've been listening to reports on the radio in the car. Hopefully we can give you some good news soon! Try not to panic

Fingers crossed for you, the fog cleared here this morning but is back again now (3.30pm). It is very cold so bring plenty of warm clothes. Have a wonderful time celebrating your DS's 21st and Happy New Year in Paris, we will be in London freezing our little toes off instead of in front of a nice warm fire, we must be mad!!!!
