Weather in January?

We are thinking of changing our March trip to a January trip (probably end of January). Does anyone know how the weather is at that time? Specifically, the precipitation? I understand the temps can go either way, but does it rain a lot? I can handle touring if it is cold (just bundle up), but I would hate to be there trying to tour with little kids and it being 50 and raining. Any help would be great!

No rain, but temps can swing dramatically.

We have gone in January for the past two years and the temps have been great, but they can change. It also has never rained on us while we were there at that time. I guess we have just been lucky! We usually go during the first week of January, but our next trip will be during the end of January. Hopefully the weather will be the same as always. It is so nice to go from winter weather into spring/summer type weather!

We always end up going in December or January and the weather is never the same. It is usually a variety of temps and frequently cold in the evening. We usually haven't had a lot of rain. Just a day or two most years. We have gone swimming but usually only one or two days are warm enough. Layering your clothes is the name of the game in January.

End of January has been dry wih variable temps the last 3 years. We have been able to swim at least 4 or 5 times during the two week trip. I can't say enough for how much we like geting away from here (always grey in the winter) to there!
