To those who have cruised in January before....
How is the weather on the three day trip?
We have experienced horribly cold and unbelievably gorgeous weather on trips to WDW during this month. Anyone know what we could expect in the Bahamas in January?

Thanks,
Loretta:D

we have gone two different times in January, with a third cruise planned for January 2003. We have always thought the weather was really warm, and never had a problem with water being to cold to snorkel. Of course we are hooked on snorkeling, and nothing would deter that passion, not even water temps. Also since we are from Iowa, that is like a heat wave to us in January.

We went last year in January, during the great cold wave. At WDW we had to buy hats and gloves due to the 40 degree weather (in FL), (That was in the day time!!) I was really worried about the cruise that followed.

It was quite cool. We wore our sweat shirts frequently and were able to "sun" at castaway cay in our bathing suits but the water was quite cold. Someone had hypothermia from the water. And our ds (8) was shivering and chattering when we let him in the water.

Now, I am not from Canada or the north, so I get cold. The folks from Canada thought it was great.

Now, having said that, IT WAS THE BEST CRUISE!!!!!!! We would love to take it again in January.

Thanks for the replys!
My kids and I are suprising my husband with a 3 day for his birthday:) (followed by our 30th on 7 day in October!)
We will just pray for nice weather and hope if it's cold, it won't be too cold:cool:

Bump - we are cruising in 03 and would love some other past cruisers experiences about January weather.

On our Jan 00 trip ---- well, our weather was not too good - we missed Castaway Cay. Could use some "pixie dust" during our next cruise.

We cruised in Jan '02. GREAT weather. At the sail away, as we left port, it was cool an windy. After that, beautiful every day. A couple of passing showers (minutes) and the rest was 80's and sunny. It was perfect. The only complaint I heard (from others, not us) was the water was a little cool at Castaway Cay. It was fine by us. Couldn't have been too bad, there were plenty of people swimming. January can be a bit risky but we would go again...for sure.

I cruised January 27th-31st 2002 and the weather was great!! Not sure what the actual temps were but we were very happy! We are from Maine however.....but nobody seemed to be bundled up.;)

I think I was on the Jan 27-31. I was very warm 80's-90's. We had PERFECT weather. The previous Jan I was at WDW at it was freezing 50's-60's. It's a crap shoot.
I'm going on Sept 19 and hope it's not too hot. I'm also considering the Jan 23rd APC.

We cruised the 4 day in January 2001. We were too cold!!!! We ran around in sweatshirts, even at Castaway! It was very windy, which made it worse. We spent a lot of time indoors.
I do hope that our HAL cruise in January 2003 is warmer.
Granted, it is a lot warmer than home, but I hate the cold. Anything under 70 to me is cold.
