I was not sure where yo post this.... I was windering when hurricane season is? We just got back and the weather was pretty good. Only one cold day. Now we are thinking of going next year in the fall. Possible later September or late November? Just wondering if I can get some feedback! Thanks

Lee

Hurricane season in Florida begins on June 1, and lasts until the end of November. I've only lived in Florida for 16 years, but it seems to me that the strongest storms tend to begin in August, as the water in the Gulf warms a lot by then, and I do know that some storms hit as late as November. Kate hit Tallahassee the year before we moved down here, for example.

However, central FL, where WDW is located, isn't as prone to damage as the costal areas.

Enjoy.

I believe the official hurricane season runs from around June or July into November..though I thik you'd be hard pressed to have to deal with hurricane problems in November. The height of the season seems to be September...or maybe August into October. We usually vacation in October and have never had a problem with hurricanes, though a tropical depression or something went over when we were there last year...nothing but some rain for the most part.

I just found some info here, pretty much the same thing I posted...

Hurricane season

I would think Sept would be the trickiest time to go. My BIL and his wife have had vacations ruined 3 or 4 years, because their anniversary is in Sept and they insist on going that time of year...I think I'd give up and go another time! :confused3

ETA:...oops..looks like someone else beat me to it...and who better to knowthan a FL resident :)

Keep in mind, most hurricanes have no impact on WDW. As an example, when Katrina skimmed over Florida last August, central Florida had pretty nice weather.

We go the last two weeks of August, which puts you smack in the middle of hurricane season. I can't say that I don't worry about them, but so far they haven't been a vacation problem. Unfortunately, they are often a big problem for the communities that take the direct hit.

Hurricane season is June 1st to November 30th. But like people above said, WDW is pretty safe in terms on stability (windows etc). Plus they are inland, so hurricanes would weaken significantly compared to if they were right over water.
