Weather in early January?

I am just getting started planning a trip to WDW for early January. It will just be myself and my almost 5-year-old DD. She will actually have her birthday while we are there (or very close to it).

If anyone can tell me what kind of weather we can expect that time of year, I would really appreciate it.

Also, if you know of any super cool things to make this almost-5-year-old's trip/birthday super special, I'm all ears! (pun intended, of course!)

Thanks!

Hi Weschmom: I've been to Apex before, years ago when I was with (then) CP&L. Anyhow, January in Florida is a mixed bag, but usually not too warm or too cold. We were there this past January 1 thru 7, and most of the week was sunny and mild ... low 70's. Even though we could have worn shorts, we were still very comfortable in long pants and short-sleeve tees. We had to start out the mornings with a jacket, store them in a locker, and put them back on when the sun went down (early). There was a cold snap at the end of the week, and we wore long sleeves and heavier jackets during the day at that time. So be prepared for anything. Also, we avoided water rides such as Splash and Kali, since the outside air wasn't warm enough to dry us off. Keep a watch on weather.com a few days before you go, so you'll have a better idea of the temps. And have fun!
