We were wondering what the weather is like around the first or second week in December? We are hoping to go down around the 7th, and trying to figure out what to pack.
Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Always Grumpy

Bumping it up. I’m curies too, we are there 12/12 -12/19.

We've gone the first or second week of December the past 5 years. 1998,1999 & 2001 were beautiful - mid-70's to low 80's, no rain, shorts weather with pants some nights. 2000 was cold, low 60's during the day, into the 40's at night, not shorts weather but no rain. As soon as we left, they had record temps in the 80's! 2002 was a mixed bag - temps varying from 60's to high 70's but we had 2 days of heavy rain. One day it rained hard non-stop from early morning to the next morning. Hopefully this year will be like 2001!

First part of December since 1992 and found it's best to pack a little for everything from cold to hot.Over the years most days you could get by wearing shorts during and wind breaker when touring in the evening.::yes:: :wave2: :wizard:

The best thing to do is to pay close attention to the forcast very close to the time you're leaving. December is tricky, if a cold front approaches it can be hot and even rainy prior and once it passes it can get quite chilly.

Last year we had a dreary, drizzly, brrr day at MK in early December. I had to buy a Minnie Santa hat to cover my ears since I don't own a ski type hat. I was very jealous of most of the those who were wearing mittens and gloves, never thought of bringing those either, didn't know I still had any!! By contrast we were wearing shorts the day we left. We were only there for 3 days!!

As SCAR says "BE PREPARED".
Last year we had rain for 2 days.
The year before that was wonderful.
Shorts and Sweatshirts in the morning.
Shorts and T-shirts during the day.
Jeans and Sweatshirts at night.

Love these weather questions. Everyone is correct be prepared for the weather to go either way. Dec & Jan. are unpredictable. It can be beautiful 70s and we get a rain storm and the temps drop to the 30s. We just never know nor is our weather consistent from year to year. We always have a light jacket or sweatshirt because it does get breezy around the lakes. Think layers.
So keep an eye on the weather channel right before you leave or check orlandosentinel.com.
You can also call Orlando Weather (407) 851-7510 or WDW weather (407) 824-4104.

I'm a native and as we say if you dont like the weather wait a few minutes and it will change. Just curious is the weather always consistent year in and year out where you live?

I’m from Maine, so yes the weather here is always the same in December its always SNOW and LOTS OF IT! :p Just joking, I know these questions can get frustrating and tend to be repeated quite frequently, but I was just looking for a ball park as to what range we can expect.
Thanks to everyone for the great assistance! :wave2:

Indiana is always cold in December. Thanks to everyone.

We will pack everything but the kitchen sink.....

Thanks,

Always Grumpy

It can "iffy." I have had beautiful balmy weather and then I have had cooler weather at that time.. sweatshirts and jeans.. but I do like going the first week in December, less crowds and not so hot weather wise... I hope you get the beautiful balmy weather for your trip..

... is usually cold in December (but, sadly not cold enough to guarantee snow!), and almost invariably damp & grey, if not raining hard! ANY weather we get this Christmas in Florida will be an improvement!

Well, early December is when I'm scheduled to go. I went last year at the same time and the weather was a little odd, but not that bad. I had a few days that it was warm, few days that it was nice, and a couple of so-so days. We had 2 days that it got downright nippy in the morning & evening, but was comfortable for a short sleeve shirt & pants during the day.

Be prepared for anything. Bring a sweatshirt, pants, gloves and a poncho (only one day did it rain. Drizzel early morning, then pored later in the morning, then cleared right up in the afternoon). Most of the attractions are indoors, so I would not let weather damper your spirits.

Grumpy92---YES! The weather where I live is consistent year in and year out! Actually, it's consistent day in and day out, too!! LOL!!!

We have trouble in Florida because the humidity turns my kids into wet dishrags. I have concerns about our next Dec trip, because I wonder if we'll be warm enough to do pools/water parks! Out here, tourists swim all year long, but residents shake their heads. I've learned it's all what your body is used to, and since we are used to 60's in the winter, it seems way too cool for us to swim. Hopefully with the humidity factor, we'll have pool weather in Florida, though.

LOL, I know exactly what you mean! Our climate is HOT, but we used to live where it gets cold (Massachusetts) and we used to be those crazy tourists in WDW that CMs shook their heads at.

Always Grumpy,

I lived in Indiana when I went to Purdue. I have to augment your statement.

It's cold in Indiana by September (I'm exaggerating
of course...)

But seriously, this "Suthun boy" never was so cold in all my life.

Love the people, though. They'll keep you warm. *grin*

Had to leave, mostly because I couldn't stand my eyelashes freezing shut.

Anyway, it's closer to WDW down here, so I think I made out OK...

Fica quente meus amigos! (Keep warm my friends...)
