Has anyone ever had a "negative" forecast before their trip (rain showers forecast everyday) but had great weather for their trip? It seems like the forecast for our upcoming trip looks bleak. We have went around this time twice before and have always had very good weather!!! Thanks.

I'm curious about next week also. We leave on Monday and it's looking pretty bleak as far as even having one sunny day for our 10-day trip!! And the forecast changes every day. I know it's not an exact science, but I just don't want to be soggy the whole time!! :p

When we went in Feb they were forecasting Thundershowers and Rain everyday before we got there. As soon as we got into our room we checked the week's weather, same thing.
We only had 1 day where it rained more than 20 minutes (and that was the day we were at AK, so really we saw more animals than we would have without the rain). The other days were sunny, a little sprinkle, then more sun.
I say don't worry about the weather dampening your spirits. If you are ready for it- you don't need to worry about it.
Have a great time- I really wish I was worrying about the weather in WDW next week... alas I have about a month and a half before I can do that.

It happens all the time. The forecast for our recent trip looked pretty grim, but, happily, it was incorrect and the weather was fantastic.

ditto . . .

for our last trip in May the forecasts were rain and scattered thunderstorms nearly everyday of our trip. I don't recall it raining once. I think it's too difficult for weather forecasters to predict more than a day or so out. As someone pointed out to me when I was worried about the weather, "I'd rather be in the rain at WDW then be at home (or anywhere else ;) ) in the rain!" Have a good trip!:)

Thanks guys. I think I'll stop looking at the forecasts and just be ready to have a geat time!!

OK, I'll throw out the ugly dose of reality.

We visited the last week of September '02, and it rained the first four days of our trip. And when I say it rained, I mean it RAINED. It is hurricane season (Isabel, duh!), and sure enough a couple days before we arrived one had swept into the gulf--sorry don't remember the name. By the time we hit Orlando, the storm system had moved east and right into town with us.

We had rain at least a half-day for those four days straight.

Best advice--be prepared for it. Bring ponchos and umbrellas. Make sure everyone in your party is prepared for the rain so that tempers don't flare. Think about things you can do indoors if you just can't take anymore rain. Find out where the laundry facilties are in your resort (assuming you aren't staying in a home away from home).

On the brighter side, rain has a tendency to empty out the parks. If you can weather the storm (literally!), you may be nicely rewarded if the rain lets up after a short period. One of our fondest memories from last fall was a nearly empty Tapestry of Dreams parade at which our son got unlimited attention from the performers because there was hardly anyone at Epcot.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. At least you won't be caught off-guard.

Hope you all have bright and sunny days waiting for you...
