Anyone leaving this week bummed about the weather forecast? We leave Dec 9th and so far everyday there is a 20-60% chance of rain! I guess I will be buying some ponchos and coming up with some plan B's

Anyway thanks for letting me vent :wave2:

I know!! I just checked. My DS and I will be there 12/10 to 12/14. :guilty: I specifically picked December to avoid rain. :umbrella:

We saw that too! We will be there 12/8-12/13. All but one day has a forecast for showers. We decided to look at the positive--if it says 40% chance of rain, there is still a 60% chance that it won't :confused3

We hope it is nice & sunny, but maybe the chance of rain will keep those who come in for the weekend away and make it even less crowed!

I am kind of upset about the weather. I will be there from the 9th -12th. I really hope it doesn't rain, but if it does it doesn't matter that much because I will still be at WDW! :cool1:

I've been going from the 21st to 28th of December the last 6 years and 4 out of 6 it rained most of the trip. I'm hoping it's sunny this year. :sunny:

Thank you guys for showing me the positive side!! I guess I was spoiled the last time we visited because it did not rain one day!! And you are right, we will still be in WDW! It doesn't get much better than that. It may be a good reason to resort hop and check out all the decorations that we may not have time to do otherwise.

I will keep my fingers crossed that we won't need these :umbrella:

You guys are crazy....first of all the weather cannot be accurately predicted past 3 days. I just looked at the local weather here www.wesh.com. We will also be there next Mon-Fri...I am not even paying attention to the weather forecast yet because it is way too early to be accurate.

We just came back from the caribbean. There is no local on line weather site to look at...just accuweather. It was calling for high winds and heavy rain for our entire trip with 60-80% rain. Well I think it rained all of 5 minutes and there were no high winds..we had bright sunshine, blue skies and gentle breezes...I think it should be called UNaccuweather because they really stink.

Besides here on Long Island we have a snow storm on the way tonight and another on Friday...just hoping to get out of town Monday am before another one gets here! I'll take rain in WDW over snow in NY anyday!

Just check the above link....and don't worry about the weather, you just can't control it!

I know I'm crazy!! :teeth: My husband doesn't hesitate to tell me that daily :rotfl2: I appreciate the link and will be sure to check it out. I hope that you are able to travel without the snow being a problem. We have had highs in the low 20's here in KC the last couple of days. I will be looking forward to the warmer weather as well. Enjoy your trip!! :goodvibes

It's really not nice to call people crazy (especially fellow Dis'ers).

However I agree I'd take rain in WDW over snow in NY (or anywhere else) any day. We seldom get to see snow in east Texas, but it is supposed to be getting colder here over the next few days (may be down in the teens by Thursday). I'm really hoping for shorts/t-shirt weather for our WDW trip later this week! This past January Accuweather called for cold weather the entire week we were going to be in Florida, so I packed mainly cold weather stuff and only three pairs of (just in case) shorts. Thoses shorts got washed out everyday as the weather was hot the whole time we were down there (until the last night when it finally turned cool enough for fleeces).

I've been watching the weather forecasts since we hit 15 days out. It changes daily. Yesterday, accuweather had a dismal forecast for our week at WDW, but today it shows no rain for our week. However yesterday, weather.com showed no rain for our week, and today it shows rain almost every day.

As long as the windchill is above 0 degrees and there's no ice to slip on, I'll be happy. :) But, like the rest of you, I'm hoping for no rain.

Mary

Last time we went the 2nd week in December (3 yrs ago?), it rained 6 out of 7 days. Everything was a walk on, they still ran MVMCP and managed to get the fireworks off. The crowds really seemed to be making the best of it, just make sure you can find a heated pool, and cool ponchos. I would suggest a color other than yellow, as it can be hard to find the kids in a sea of yellow ponchos...........you will have a good time!

Dh and I are going to Disneyworld for our 2nd time 12/9 - 12/17. We went the same week 3 years ago. Considering that the high temp for our town will be 40 while we're gone, I'll gladly take some 70s and rain!
