I am a fall person, I have always gone during Oct/Nov but I can't keep pulling my daughter out of school. So we are trying something new. What is it like during this time.

I went this year in that time frame. Expect sweltering heat and humidity (dripping sweat) and for it to be crowded Not Christmas crowded but still crowded. And expect daily afternoon storms.

Very crowded and weather is surface-of-the-sun kind of hot with daily rainstorms

Hot as Hell and VERY crowded. But with kids, I know you have to do what you have to do.

Hot with 100% chance of sweat and 80% chance of afternoon rain.

On the bright side it's much easier to pack for than a fall-winter trip -- for those you have to pack for the possibility of 40* - 95* weather.

In July you know what you're getting.

Very hot, but manageable. Go early at rope drop. Take a break after lunch. Go back in the evening.

The afternoon storms are almost daily. They're INTENSE, but short. After 30-60 minutes they go away. We brought some flimsy panchos last time, but they were no use. We'll bring some heavier duty ones when we return this August.

Agreed, hotter than the surface of the sun. We thought the crowds were better as we stayed longer in August. July has the big tour groups, so go in August if possible. We wore two sets of clothes per day. One for AM touring and then a different set when we went back out at night. I did laundry x2 that trip. You start sweating as soon as you step outside.

We went with the above plan: rope drop, daily break, go back out when the sun goes down. Park hours and long and you can enjoy night time touring.
Daily thunderstorms were intense, but nice.
