We're going to WDW for Christmas this year. I'm curious what weather and temperatures you've experienced there at that time of year. I hear it might be in the 70's for highs? Is there very much rain?
Thanks!!!

Hi and :welcome: to the DIS!

Winter weather in Orlando is completely unpredictable. You could have warm days (80s) with cool mornings, or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. Or you could have a little of both, or something in between. So pack a little of everything!

Could be in the 80's, could be in the 30's.

We went this past Christmas, and it was chilly! We got there the 21st, and that night we had our winter coats, hats, and gloves on! So glad we're from Illinois, we were prepared! I was surprised at how many people were using blankets instead of coats! It was usually cold at night/in the morning, but during the day was lovely. We usually go in the dead of summer, so the cool weather was nice. It only rained once while we were there, and that was our AK day, and it only rained long enough to completely soak our shoes and end our day there. :sad1:
But, the day before we got there, it was in the 80's, and the day we left the 80's were back. Figures, huh?! But I recommend checking the weather forecast for WDW the day before you leave, but be prepared for warm and cold! And have fun!

It's dry season so what little rain you'll see is when a cold front comes through, also the rain this time of year is not the heavy downpours you get in the summer. As far as temperatures someone said it best,it can be in the 80's or it can be in the 30's.You could have a Sunday and Monday with highs near 85 then on Tuesday a cold front comes in and temperatures drop into the 60's or 70's along with some rain. After the cold front comes through it might be totally clear and sunny with highs in the low 60's and lows in the 40's,the cold will probably only last a day or two and then you might have a week in a row with partly sunny days and highs in the 70's and lows in the 55-60 range, which is more average.

I live here and experience Christmas year after year and each year for 17 years it's been a little different. I liken it to a later North Eastern spring time. One day it could be 80 (I've had my AC on at Christmas) and then again, it could be in the 40's.

Typical weather though is high 60's - mid 70's during the day with lows in the 50's at night. Rain is usually not a factor as it is normally the dry season here. Not to say it can't rain but it's not normal in Dec. You can swim yes but you probably won't find any locals in the pools (or in shorts). ;)
