Weather and crowds in May???

Hi there,
We are thinking of planning a last minute trip for May, but we aren't sure about the crowds or weather. We have been there the last 2 times in late September and we have loved the small crowds and the weather has been managable.

We are curious as to how the crowds and weather compare. Any input is would be greatly appreciated.

We were there in May '97 and the weather and crowds were terrific. It was hot but not unbearable, and since it was still May, people were still in school. The crowds were great and that was when there were only 3 parks and no fast pass!!

I was there in May 2000 and I am going again this may. The crowds were not bad at all and we did use the fastpass. The longest we waited to get on a ride was 1 hour and that was for the dumbo ride at MK which had no fastpass. But other then that we never waited very long. The weather was about 90 degrees give or take 5 degrees and it didnt rain the whole time we were there. It was such a wonderful trip and that is why I am going in May again this year. I am pulling my kids out of school for a week to do it.

We go in May a lot. Crowds a bit higher than Sept. but still very manageable. Weather is great. Seems a bit warmer than in Sept., but less chance of any prolonged rain.
In short--a fine time to go!

I've gone every year for 12 years in May and love it! The weather is generally mid to high 80's, but not humid the way September is humid. Only one year did we have over 100 temps every day; very unusual. And only twice have we had rain, though one trip it rained every day for a week. Again, very unusual.

The crowds are 'moderate' by Disney standards, meaning you'll wait anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes for the major attractions, depending on time of day. Avoid Memorial Day Weekend like the plague.....it's MUCH busier then!

We have been there several times in May. We were there last May and will be again this May. My only suggestion--avoid Memorial weekend if at all possible. Have found the crowds to be quite large during that week. We usually go 2-3 week in May and find the crowds very managable. The temp's have been in the high 80's to low 90's (though I've seen 95 for several days on one trip). We were just there in Sept. I found Sept. to be less crowded but more prolonged rain than May. Still not a bad time either.

Hey there,
May is a great time to go. We will always go in May if we can!
The only thing to watch for is for Elementary schools and High Schools taking their year end excursions. This happened to us last year at Disney Studios. We ended up leaving at 11:30 because there was so many groups tying up the major attractions. (Visions of those yellow school shirts still haunt me.)
Every other day that week had been fine at Disney and Universal except for the Friday.

We are also in the works for planning a last minute trip in May. How exciting! I think May is a good time to go, b/c like one mentioned, people are still in school and the weather won't be unbearably hot. I went once June 2000 and it was soooooo hot!

We went in May last year, it was my first time in May after having done September, Oct, Nov in previous years and the weather was fabulous. I found the crowds to be larger than I was used to but we still didn't stand in line for longer than 20 mins. I did find myself geting more tired in the heat and but cooled myself off back at the hotel pool in the afternoons. We had such a great time we're back again same time this year.
