I need a few opinions please..... I am leaving for my disneymoon on Sunday. A friend of mine (an ex- CM) bought us these wonderful Mickey ears that are a top hat and bridal veil/cap:bride: . They have our names on the ears and our wedding date. Very special and cute. BUT, do we want to pack them and wear these hot hats in Disney? Of course we wouldn't mind people knowing we are newly weds, but I am thinking hot head and ruined ears..... ya know? what would you do?:confused3

OF COURSE YOU WANT TO TAKE THEM WITH YOU!! I have worn those before a few years back and to be honest with you...I hardly noticed I had them on!! You will get lots of attentions from CM's with these on!! Trust me!! It is worth it...besides...where else are you going to get to wear them?

I bought our bride and groom ears a couple of weeks before our Disneymoon, and my DH was definitely NOT into it. I convinced him to wear them on the first day, and after all of the attention we got, he wanted us to wear them for the whole trip! Wear them! You'll have a great time, and maybe get some good stuff out of it! :)

Even though we always dress up for Princess and Pirates, MNSSHP etc, we opted not to wear the ears on our honeymoon.

I think it is great to wear them if you want the attention...but we didn't. Whatever you are comfortable with.

DD just honeymooned at WDW. They enjoyed wearing the Just Married pins that they bought there. They didn't want to splurge for the hats.

Since the hats were a gift, and rather pricey, take them and wear them once to see what you think. This way you will have a memory attached to the hats and you might want to keep the hats forever. If you don't wear them at all, you will probably be getting rid of them in the near future because they take up a lot of space. Otherwise, pass them on to someone else who might enjoy them.

I'm getting married in July in NY and my fiance` and I are bringing our ears with us on our Disneymoon. We decided to wear them to each park once and if we get something extra, cool, if not, no biggie. We're there to have a great time, not to get free goodies because we feel we're entitled to them.

Congrats! Have a great time!

As someone said earlier, after a little while of wearing them, you won't even remember you have them on :)

You should definitely wear them~~makes the trip a lot more fun! :)

You should definitely wear them. Get your picture taken with them on in front of the castle. That would be great.

WEAR THEM!! I honeymooned at Disney in January, and we wore them. Actually it was the ONLY time so far that my DH would agree to wear a disney hat. IT WAS SOOOOOO WORTH IT!! Trust me!! You have no idea how many little magical things that MIGHT happen just because of those hats!! We had so many great moments!! Plus, it looks just adorable in the pictures!

Definately wear them. My DH was hesitant at the time but after the first day, he didn't want to take them off. We had a blast with them and got many magical moments.

P.S. We had ours prior to leaving (we wore them for our last dance) so we even wore them at the airport (or I did -- he carried his until we got to WDW)

WEAR THEM!!!!! I wish I honeymooned at WDW (or anywhere for that matter :sad2: ). I would have loved to wear them. So I opt to wear my Minnie ears (the head band type). It is better than nothing. But to have a bridal Minnie ear on.....how sweet....

Congratulations!!!!

I would wear them!! I think its cute. It puts a smile on my face when I see people wearing them. :) If they get to hot you can take them off for a while then wear them at night. Very cute. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR UPCOMING NUPTIUALS!! :bride: :groom:

Jen :goodvibes

They weren't for us, but I'm always sure to smile and congratulate any couples that I do see wearing them, so it does give you a little something extra (even if it's only from me ;) ). I say bring them at the very least. If you don't want to wear them fine, but you can't wear them if you don't bring them. And CONGRATULATIONS!!

Honestly, if someone gave us the ears as a gift, I'd wear them! But I'm not going to go out and buy them for myself... espically since I know my fiancee won't wear his :rotfl:

Okay, you happen to ask about a topic that Im well- emotional about. So let me just clarify, I am a friendly, positive, up beat, Disney-lovin fool.

Except with the hats.
DH read amazing things could happen if you wear these hats...

I was swooned with stories of sitting in first class on the plane, and getting moved up to the front of long lines for rides and room upgrades, and on and on.
So as we entered the airport at 7am I stuck the thing on my head- only to be rewarded with what I dispise- strangers everywhere staring at us. DH LOVED it. I plunked myself down in my coach seat and crammed it in my backpack.

I tried to wear it to Epcot, but it wouldnt stay on my head. I tried barrett style clips- nope came off. (Nothing more fun than racing to a new ride and having to turn around and go back for a hat you hate) so people wont step on it by accident. I tried. But it wouldnt stay on and caused me more stress. Not to mention all the people that want to know when you got married and where you're from and where you got married.

DH wore his faithfully everyday. I did not- and I was happy. I selected a nice set of Minnie Mouse ears to keep my baseball hat on (kept sun off my face) and I loved my MM ears!
But people would ask wear my wedding hat was. I would just tell ppl it wouldn't stay on.

Then maidservice actually went out and bought and gave to me a whole package of bobbypins. (Gee Lucky me) because we saw her everyday I knew I had to reward her good intentions and wear it- it took half the package to keep it on my head. I rode Rock Roller Coaster that day- PAIN! OH THE PAIN!

DO you know what we got? Some free desserts.

We were given free birthday pins cause we had the hats- you know what that meant???? "Todays your birthday!! Happy Birthday" from CMs everywhere. A well meaning fellow at Tower of Terror kept me for 10 min because it was his birthday too. I just cant lie, so I took the pin off. I know the CM at the gate had good intentions, but it just brought me more unwanted attention.

Okay- now all that said- I love to see OTHER people wearing their wedding hats (which are not hot) cause I know they just got married and I know they are in a wonderful place and I pray they have just as great a marriage as I have and a husband who loves Disney as much, if not more than I do. (and I never stop them to ask when they got married).

Bring them, try them for a day, if you dont like them you can store them in a locker. I hope you dont have fine hair- and get bobbypins! And the mens hat is indestructable- ours has been stepped on and is still alive and well in our attic. (4 yrs later)

Take it from me-wear them! The last time I was at WDW was our honeymoon 12 years ago. I don't know if they had just married pins, or bride/groom ears, or anything back then! (I didn't see anything anyways!) So on our honeymoon, no one knew, but us. These were the days before needing ADR's too, so they didn't even know at the restaurants we dined at. It was fine because it was my first (and only) time at WDW and we were young and in love! So, fast forward 12 years and we're taking our DS8 :cool2: and DS5 pirate: (who will turn 6 the day after we arrive) the week after Thanksgiving. I will be telling everyone about DS's birthday (pins, phone call from Goofy, dining reservations, all the CM's etc.). I just think if you're going to be celebrating something, really celebrate it! Wear the hats! Life is too short to worry about being silly! :upsidedow

wear them...you can't buy the amount of attention you'll get when you wear them...believe me..I know (our Disneymoon was in March of 06')

I want to wear these ears in sept, when we marry in WDW!!! But my fiance's head is so big the hat wont fit on his head!!! Are there any suggestions about what I can do to get this Groom Hat to fit?

definetly wear them, last year when me and dh went on our 25 anniversary trip there was another couple on the plane that had hats on and they got a bottle of champagne from the pilot.(they were celebrating 5 yrs) but were wearing mickey and minnie wedding hats..dh just looks at me and says dont tell them its our anniversary too (He doesnt get into all that attention seeking stuff) later on that day we saw them at the park (epcot) they still had the hats on so i'm guessing they enjoyed the experience..congrats and heres hoping you get something magical on your trip!:wizard:
