Okay, you happen to ask about a topic that Im well- emotional about. So let me just clarify, I am a friendly, positive, up beat, Disney-lovin fool.
Except with the hats.
DH read amazing things could happen if you wear these hats...
I was swooned with stories of sitting in first class on the plane, and getting moved up to the front of long lines for rides and room upgrades, and on and on.
So as we entered the airport at 7am I stuck the thing on my head- only to be rewarded with what I dispise- strangers everywhere staring at us. DH LOVED it. I plunked myself down in my coach seat and crammed it in my backpack.
I tried to wear it to Epcot, but it wouldnt stay on my head. I tried barrett style clips- nope came off. (Nothing more fun than racing to a new ride and having to turn around and go back for a hat you hate) so people wont step on it by accident. I tried. But it wouldnt stay on and caused me more stress. Not to mention all the people that want to know when you got married and where you're from and where you got married.
DH wore his faithfully everyday. I did not- and I was happy. I selected a nice set of Minnie Mouse ears to keep my baseball hat on (kept sun off my face) and I loved my MM ears!
But people would ask wear my wedding hat was. I would just tell ppl it wouldn't stay on.
Then maidservice actually went out and bought and gave to me a whole package of bobbypins. (Gee Lucky me) because we saw her everyday I knew I had to reward her good intentions and wear it- it took half the package to keep it on my head. I rode Rock Roller Coaster that day- PAIN! OH THE PAIN!
DO you know what we got? Some free desserts.
We were given free birthday pins cause we had the hats- you know what that meant???? "Todays your birthday!! Happy Birthday" from CMs everywhere. A well meaning fellow at Tower of Terror kept me for 10 min because it was his birthday too. I just cant lie, so I took the pin off. I know the CM at the gate had good intentions, but it just brought me more unwanted attention.
Okay- now all that said- I love to see OTHER people wearing their wedding hats (which are not hot) cause I know they just got married and I know they are in a wonderful place and I pray they have just as great a marriage as I have and a husband who loves Disney as much, if not more than I do. (and I never stop them to ask when they got married).
Bring them, try them for a day, if you dont like them you can store them in a locker. I hope you dont have fine hair- and get bobbypins! And the mens hat is indestructable- ours has been stepped on and is still alive and well in our attic. (4 yrs later)
