I am planning to go to both BB and TL while in Disney. I have ordered contacts, but am not sure they will be in early enough to bring on our trip. I cannot see anything without my glasses on. What do you do with your glasses at the parks? Can you wear them on most rides?

I am virtually unable to see without my glasses as well. I wear them on all the water rides I am brave enough to do--if the ride is really fast it would be best to take them off. There are sport straps that you can use to keep them on as well, they fit snugly around your head so you don't lose your glasses (ask at your optical or at the optical department at Sears, Walmart, BJ's etc.). The waves at TL are really high and strong so you will want to be sure your glasses are secure. I always take a spare pair of glasses to use at the water park so I won't have a ruined trip.

There is a brightly colored waterproof container made especially for eyeglasses you may find in your local SCUBA store. It is hard plastic outside and cushioned inside with a secure snap-down latch, and comes with a cord for carrying around your neck. For my next trip, I'm planning on leaving it with my towel and shoes and so forth at my waterpark "base camp," because I can see shapes and colors well enough without my glasses. However, if you need to, I think you'd be very comfortable waiting until the last minute and then slipping your glasses into the container, closing it securely, and tightening the cord (as added security) so you can hold on to it as you go WHOOSH! I hope this is good information for you. I've been on Summit Plummet and Humunga Kowabunga, but I did not take my glasses with me, although I think I could have.

Thanks for your thoughts... but guess what? My contacts came in today, and all is well... Yay! I plan to wear them at the waterparks. Have you done that?
