My children tell me that their crocs are the most comfy pair of shoes they own. They would like to wear them in the parks.
After hearing about them getting stuck in escalators I just have to ask, are they safe in WDW?
Are there any rides that we need to worry about them falling off? :3dglasses

well there are no escalators in disney. hmm...might be one in the contemporary, but i dont think so. so no worry there.

are they safe to wear, sure. the only ride you will be asked to take them off on is soarin, but theres a place to put them.

i would suggest taking another pair of shoes with you, possibly a sandal. the walking there is unlike any walking ive ever experienced. even your favorite shoe can give you a blister. plus, around 3 when your feet are just too tired to go on, a change of shoes will give you new life.

I wore mine - with Gold Toe socks from JC Penney's - the entire week we were there and had absolutely no problems with them.

Thanks for your replies! The kids will be thrilled to get to wear their crocs. Good idea about the extra shoes. Do you carry the extras into the park?

i do, but only for the people that will be doing a lot of walking. so just for me and my 8yo. my 4 and 2yo wont walk as much, so they dont usually need the extra pair. so my daughter and i will wear teva's into the parks, then when we start egtting tired we'll switch. shell switch to crocs and ill switch to teva mush's.
we save our most comfy pair for second.
now if i wasnt bringing a stroller in, i wouldnt carry them. i would just switch if we went back to the resort.

They actually sell Disney Crocs at the resorts.. (which was a good thing as my 10 year old needed a quick fast pair of shoes after 24 hour drive.. not to mention an air fresherner for the van.. :scared: )

the only place with escalators is the Lands building, but if you actually step off the escalator instead of letting it slide you into the grill at the top you won't have any problems.

Speaking of soarin - you'll want to remove the crocs and leave them on the floor before you take off - which gives the added bonus of feeling the wind blowing through your toes *bliss*

That is pretty much all I took with ever had a problem

and if you wanted to on like soarin put the backs on that is what I do here at the theme park in a hour away ,I know some people don't like leaving things behind

*cough*my grandma*cough* :rotfl2:  :rotfl2:

Just in case you wanted a teen's opinion, I love wearing crocs in the parks because your feet don't get as hot and they're so comfortable, they also are great for the wet rides because they're waterproof so you don't have to worry about nasty wet tennis shoes!
hope it helps!:thumbsup2

That does help! Thank you for your opinion. :thumbsup2

i have been to disney three times this summer! I love wearing my crocs while i am there, for all of the reasons disneyluver stated plus, with the disney crocs the kids will get cute lil mickey tatoos on their feet! For free from the crocs! Love it!

My DD4 wore her Crocs every day during our trip to WDW last year and had no problems.

My DW and I also wore Crocs every day and our feet felt great at the end of the day.

After leaving my tennis shoes at home by mistake I ended up at WDW with loafers and Crock Schutes. So, the Crocks it was, for 4 days at least. On day 5 I had a rash on the top of my foot across my last 3 toes. Then I did mole skin and crocks. Had to go to the doctor when I got home because it just got worse. Found that many people are actually allergic to the material Crocks are made of. With traditional crocks the top of your foot is loose and doesn't touch the material that much. In the schutes the wide strap crosses your foot right at your toes and it touches. Anyway, he said it usually shows up in the summer when you wear them a great deal. Had I not worn them to Disney I may never have know. I can wear the regular Crocks again in about 6 months but he suggested I leave the Schutes alone.

I know this is gonna sound crazy, but what i do to prevent sweating while wearing my crocs. OK I do one of 2 things. If you have spray deoderant, i use it to spray my feet, bottoms and tops, and it does a pretty good job with the sweat. Or if i have no deoderant, i take baby powder, and pour it in my crocs, my feet smell good, and they don't sweat!:thumbsup2

The easiest thing is if wearing pants..just wear socks!!!

I wore my crocs on my cruise and the remainder of my trip to Disney and they were a lifesaver :thumbsup2
