I swear I am telling the truth and didn't lie all day!
So why did he strike my tree with a bolt of lightening?
Possibly time to re-evaluate things :p

I haven't seen Sonja (sorry if I spelled it wrong) around, is everything okey dokey????

It is a specimen oak, I am down to 4 plus this one. I lost one about 3 years ago, it was struck and lived about 5 years after that. I'll call the arborist and see what he says, but it is missing a large strip of bark.
This Oak is really tall and helps provide a lot of shade to the back, and would be sorely missed. I do have to keep on top of it as it is close enough to the house to possibly cause damage if it fell the right way.

I hope the tree is okay, betz.

Nice to see YOU. :)

Were you home when the lightening struck? We had a nasty storm come through last night too. Many years ago lightening struck an oak in the back yard. It live that first year, did not make it through the winter. Hope your tree survives the rath of Thor.
