We want to try HHI weather 1st week June?

Our home resort is SSR, we love it, this was our 9th Disney trip, but this coming year we really want to go on a low key vacation(dare I say we are worn out w/ the parks) and HHI sounds right up our alley. We tried this past July 4th week to go but of course HHI was booked to capacity. Cross your fingers for us. We really would like to know what the weather is like around the 1st two weeks in June and are hoping we can get in during that time period? We will take whatever feed back we can get from those that have been there at that time.

We have been at july 4th and it was great , but this year we went the first week in June and I must say it was perfect! Less crowds on the beach(no problem parking at the beach house), great weather with low humidity, less island traffic and just the beauty of the island. We love HHI so much that we added on in 2002 just to get summer 11 month window. I am returning first week in June 2010 and hope for the same. We really make this a vacation with lots of reading, sunbathing and relaxing(and of course eating at the great restaurants). If you are there on tuesday in June and july there are fireworks right at shelter cove and we had a super view from our porch, but other people come to shelter cove just to see the fireworks...they also have alot of outdoor stuff going that night before the fireworks for entertainment.

We love HHI the last week of May and early June.

We found it was too hot for us in July.

Thank you so much for sharing that info. I can't wait to go there. I have been to HH years ago when I was a teenager and just couldn't remember what the weather was like. I am a beach bum so its all about relaxing in the sun for me, my 6 year old and hubby love the beach too, so this vacation will be a relaxing one w/ not worrying about amusement parks and schedules. I am so hoping we can get in at that time. Do you have any restraunt pics on the island that you would recommend? We are huge seafood eaters....

There are a huge number of restaurants of every kind and we all have our favorites. When you get there, you can find a huge booklet at the visitor center with all of them and their menus. HHI disney also had discounts as dvc members and they will give you these on check-in. We love Old Oyster Factory*, Frankie Bones, Sea Shack, Hilton Head Diner (24 hr breakfast and everything) Gueseppis pizza*and Scott's* and Kingfisher(right at shelter cove),to name a few. * is DVC discount the last trip june 09(they do change). You can also find a list of restuarants on HHI dining website. We also cook breakfast alot in the villa and eat on the great porch.

We are so looking forward to relaxing and doing very little, but there is nothing like waking up and eating breakfast on the balcony. That is our favorite meal of the day. We did that every morning at SSR this past July. It was awesome!
