We Want to Go to DISNEY, not the Beach! Updated ADRs 5/1

yea, glad you get to do both, you will have a great time.We are taking on the challenge of 4 hotels in 17 nights.I hope we survive, lol

yay that's a great solution!!!

We will typically do that too if we are getting in late the first day!

I was going to tell you to go for Beach Club. If money was an issue, go for POR but being that it's not you said, BEACH CLUB ALL THE WAY!!!

You will love beach club :) Honestly, my only gripe about it is the fact that they don't have a decent CS and BW doesn't either. If you aren't breakfast people, that shouldn't be a problem though! I did eat lunch a few times at the pool bar and it was very good but be prepared to wait a while if they are busy!!
You will love the pool too! My bro who is NOT a pool person fell in love with the pool and slide! I love the fact that they ID you too so there is no pool hopping. I wish they'd do that at all the Deluxe resorts, esp the Epcot ones and MK monorail loop ones.

I'll let you know how it goes at GF but I know at the Beach Club hair salon they do "island braids" (corn rows) which might be something fun for your girls to do! It says online it's $55 for 1/2 a head but assuming you take care of them, they can last at least a month!

You made a great choice IMO!

Your post was making me nervous for a little bit! I was afraid we were going to lose you...

Yeah!!! Sounds like a great solution to your dilema!

Great that you get both! My DH loved POR so much and hates change so much that we may never get to stay elsewhere when he goes with us! The boat ride to DTD is what hooked him I think!

The Best of BOTH Worlds...:woohoo::woohoo:

I know, right!

Well done Amanda!!!

Familiarity AND something new!

Thanks! I'm excited about getting settled in there, so to speak!

That's such a great idea! Your first night will be full of familiarity, and the rest of the trip will be a new adventure. :goodvibes

That's a great way to look at it!

Wow--I can't even imagine that many hotels! It also sounds like an epic adventure!

The lack of great CS was a concern of mine. Hopefully, though, with us being so close to Epcot, it won't be a huge deal for us. I think that the only days I've really been worried have been Hollywood Studios days, because of their lack of a great CS, too. It's something we will have to work around at some point.

I guess I'll stick around. . .

Ya'll are great over at the BC/YC thread!

The DTD boat is great, and that is the one thing I was going to miss more than anything. Now that this is squared away, then we'll be fine.

:cool1::goodvibes:yay::woohoo: That is great can't wait

Thanks, Hallie!

Our first summer trip. 2009 was the first year of the What Will You Celebrate? promotion for Disney, and Boo's birthday was June 30. We decided to take Boo for her birthday. As we made the plans, we realized something--Dan had his annual cigar festival that week. He couldn't go with us. So we enlisted a dear friend of mine, Gillian (not pronounced Jill, but gill, as in a fish). Here she is with Boo:

We drove through the day that day, arriving at Disney at about 1 pm. We stayed at Port Orleans-Riverside, and scored a corner second floor room with an upgrade to water view.

Our room:

Our view:

After getting into our room, we headed over to Epcot, to ride the monorail to catch a glimpse of the Magic Kingdom.

And there we have it--June 2009 in pictures. Who was to know I'd be back in less than 6 months?

Very cute pictures. I can't believe how close the trips are getting. June can not come fast enough!

The kids looked so happy in those pictures,I'm sure they are really excited to go back again!

Amanda, the Pluto pic (at Ohana) cracks me up! I swear, I think Stitch and Pluto there are some of the best CMs in the World!

And I was going to say, look at your ticker! But you guys beat me to it! It's getting soooooo close!

That Pluto was awesome--he was crawling on the floor like a real dog. The kids got a kick out of him.

Love the pics!!!

Thanks!

Great memory pictures! I love the interaction with Pluto :goodvibes

That was a fun time!

You read that right. In December 2009, just 6 months after I spent 8 nights with the children in Disney World, I went back.

By myself.

Christmas week.

That year, I left the kids with their father and was in Disney for a week almost until Christmas eve. I stayed at Port Orleans-French Quarter and braved the Deluxe Dining plan!

And, without further ado, Dec 2009 in pictures. . .

If you ever have the chance to do Disney at Christmas, you will not regret it! It is awesome!

How fun that you are re-living your past trips.

Mmmmm- solo at the World! At Christmas!!!

You had some awesome experiences alone. Did I miss it? How/why did that come about?

I needed a small vacation. I had taken an extra set of duties at work and I was driving myself into the ground. It was an awesome experience that I would love to do again someday!
