great job on the run and I love seeing your xmas trip pictures again :goodvibes

btw...frozen butterbeer is pretty darn tasty but not as good as the Hogs Head Red!

:rotfl:

I'm glad that you enjoyed them. The BW pictures were specifically for you, btw.
That's what I figured! :goodvibes I loved each and every one!!!!

The progress towards that 5k was a big thing, and I'm glad I did it! And tell her to come on in!
I'm working on it... she told me yesterday that she's not ready to start any C25K stuff until after May... I asked her why wait?? I got an evil, internet stare! :rotfl2:

I wasn't a runner until about a month or so ago. Now I love it. But I had to get used to working out first. I spent a lot of time in the weight room lifting first and I still prefer to lift weights.

I spent a lot of time (4 months) lifting weights until C25k. So, she's okay. I still think you should join us in the babnana meet.

Typically by now, I have posted my practice car packing photos for all of you Disers. After all, when you have this car:

you best have a good idea how much it holds. Who can ever forget the practicing for 2008?

or June 2009?

Or December 2009, when I just took a shot of the suitcases by the door, because I was going solo?

and then there is just last summer. . .

So how about the 5.0 version of packing my little Ford Focus?

Or maybe not.

We won't we seeing that this year. Although I have my Focus still, and we were going to drive it, dh had to replace his 2002 Ford Ranger last week due to the 137,000 miles on it and the fact that it needed its second transmission.

And I don't think I'm going to need to gauge perfectly how much this will hold. . .

We have no cab for the back, so we are going to use the tie downs for a tarp and possibly have the luggage in garbage bags.

The only shocker is that gas is going to be twice our original budget, but the room for us and the stuff in the truck wins out.

Yay for the truck!!!!

I'm still upset that I'm going to miss you by 2 days!! I think you should stay till the 16 or 17!!

Thanks for the message on my TR..it made my day and I had a huge smile! I feel like a ton of you have been around for that horrible saga in my life and now it's finally over!!!

Now I just have to decide which Masters I want to go for..ugh! Taking college classes are nothing compared to that exam though so it should be a breeze!

I wish I could! Unfortunately, I have to be at work on the 17th. :(

Have you thought of a preschool disabilities major? It would be an awesome job and you could easily find one!

When is it again?

DH isn't too thrilled about my semi-solo in December as it is... he's how you say... green with envy? :confused3

I need to get an adults only trip for me and him in... and soon or I'll never be allowed to go to Disney again! [at least without family...]

It's Sept 30-Oct 3, with TK, Tink, Legomom, and I (and possibly Mean Queen) running/walking the 5K on Sat, Oct 1.

I'd love an adults only trip for me and dh, but that won't be possible.

Wow that truck is just lovely. I drive an old '94 Ford Ranger and it's at 110,000 miles...it's a manual and it still drives great.

That will certainly make packing easy though, it's one of the reasons I love my truck. :thumbsup2 Anytime I have a lot of stuff I can just throw it in the back! :goodvibes

The Ranger was a great truck--we got it used and it served it purpose well for us. I think the major problem is that it was wrecked at one time--before we owned it.

I am excited about having a truck this year--the kids won't fight in the back seat because they will have plenty of room. :woohoo:

And, :welcome I hope you can stick around!

I like the practice car-packing photos. I am one of those sickos who loves to pack anything. Suitcases, moving boxes, supplies. I get a little adreneline rush when everything fits together nicely in one box. I adore my label-maker.

TMI?

Sounds like you will be able to be a lot less stressed about everything fitting.

Are you going to bring along a few swimming pool noodles for Stormalong Bay?

I know I won't be able to swing fall. The only reason I'm getting to go in December is 1) I got a really good deal and 2) DH is going to a card convention. I can't squeeze 2 trips out of one of his! :headache:

I'm sure you can fit one in... when you retire, right?

Someone after my own heart!

I used to have to do super-packing with my photo gear in a Neon. It's not that much different than a Focus. I loved defeating my gear and getting it to fit!

LOL, I think not, Dee. ;)

You are so right!

Already got them! That was one of the first things I knew I would need.

That's too bad :(

I know all too well, lol. It's such a great feeling when you get it all to fit!

I know. I'd love to pull something off!

As of right now, not know where/if work will take me next year. I've got in for a temporary position with GM locally. While it wouldn't be long term, we'd be able to bump up our savings for the next blow.

What??? :confused3

;)

Good luck with position at GM! I hope it becomes permanant/full time. I'm assuming it's General Motors? If so, Dan and I tried to help them by buying the truck. . . :rolleyes1

Yes it's General Motors, well kinda.

The official title of the place is GMHC (General Motors Holdings Corp.). The plant here doesn't actually make cars/trucks. They make a lot of the electronic parts that go in them (radios/hybrid vehicle charging thingies/etc). To have a car built, we'd have to go over to Marion or Ft. Wayne.

Either way, it would be a substantial pay increase from what I'm making now. AND the last time they brought in temps, they kept them, and that was 5 years ago.

They are only hiring 100 people, so I've got to bring my A game if/when they call.

Thanks for the well wishes, and thanks for buying GM! (at least you helped keep DH on the job... and my FIL, and BIL, and a few of my very closest friends! :teeth:)
