We arrived at POFQ and the hot tub was broken. The swimming pool heater remained broken throughout our trip, and the water was too cold for us to enjoy. We had dinner reservations at Coral Reef yesterday and after walking from Mexico, we were greeted with "Sorry Coral Reef is closed." I asked why they had not called my cell phone and I was told they are still trying to contact guests with reservations, such as myself. We were told to go back to world showcase and find a nice restaurant there, but not Le Cellier, Norway, or Les Chefs, which were booked. I said we have a 4 and 5 year old who are tired and we needed them to get us reservations. We were given reservations at Kouzzini and a $25 gift card. We took the boat to Kouzzini and it started raining, and the boats closed after we arrived because of the lightning. In the pouring rain we took a bus to HS, then back to POFQ. Got to the room and my room key would not work, took it back to front desk who got it fixed. This morning, the rain is still coming down at 4am, and we were so thankful we had already taken our luggage to storage the night before.
While on the SWA plane, I see our 8 pieces of checked luggage on the ground to be loaded and there is no cover over the luggage to protect from the downpour. Just got home, and our bags, contents of the bags, including 2 tempurpedic pillows are soaked. The kids signature books are ruined and my new red luggage has bled all over my new vacation clothing. I called SWA who told me I had to show the damage to the baggage claim folks before I left, although there website says report damage within 4 hours, in person. Our 30 rice krispy Mickey heads are inedible now, and the luggage is soaked and greasy. I have decided on a do over and just booked a trip for my son and I to return in December. Here's hoping the hot tub is fixed, the pool heater is working, our restaurants do not have mechanical issues, and our luggage survives.
