We travelers 3...Part 1

We left North GA last night after dinner time to head towards Disney! We had planned on stopping part of the way and spending the night. Last year we were smart and made reservations in Gainesville...well...this year we didn't do it. We tried stopping everywhere from Lake City on and no hotel had a vacancy. We were so tired but everywhere we stopped..no luck. We ended up having to drive all the way to Orlando. By chance, we went ahead and went to the All Star Movies Resort where we weren't supposed to check in until mid-day Saturday. We arrived at 4:30 a.m. and lucked out! We found someone and they looked up the reservation and as luck would have it, our room was not occupied! We were able to go ahead and get in our room at no additional charge! We crashed for a few hours and then got up to eat. We spent the day exploring around. We ended up at Downtown Disney tonight and had a great time. We did way too much shopping already! Funny....we remembered all of the things we saw last year and wish we had purchased, and we bought them this time. We learned last year that if you see it, and you want it, go ahead and get it because you may not get back to that store to get it before you have to leave.

ASM is great! My 4 year old son loves all of the decorations. We stayed at Sports last summer and it was great as well. Lots of families and a very comfortabe feeling about it.

Off to Magic Kingdom tomorrow. It is supposed to storm all day but we don't care...we are going anyway! We bought the ponchos tonight!

Word of warning, we have noticed that prices on everything are a little higher than last year, but hey....it's Disney

First, a Welcome to the Dis. I am very happy that everything worked out ok when you got to WDW, thankfully your room was available for you.. Hope it does not storm your first day, have fun..

I'd like to welcome you too Carsonsmom! I cant believe there were no vacancies in Gainsville or Lake City! I would be like you and figure that there would be some. I'm glad you got into your room at the All Stars though. I cant imagine having to wait till the afternoon!
