We just received our closing docs so I guess we're "official"
We bought in at SSR but have a reservation at OKW the last week of Sept.
We have reserved a 1BR for DH, myself and DS7, DD6 and soon to be DS 3 months (we're having him this Friday!) We feel in love with OKW a couple of years ago and finally took the plunge... maybe it was the pregnancy hormones raging :teeth: but we did it!

Are we nuts to take an infant? We go twice a year usually and we figured since we were going to be going for many years to come we could take a nice relaxing trip this time. Spend a lot of time at the resort and just piddle around. The DS & DD love the pools just as much as the parks. Any tips for traveling with a wee one?

Thanks!

Congratulations, on all counts!!!

No tips about traveling with an infant, but I'm sure others here will help!

Congratulations and Welcome Home! Congratulations on the new baby - very exciting news!

IMO - In many ways an infant is easier to deal with than a toddler. I think you have the right idea, go slow, do as much or as little as you all feel up to and have a relaxing great time.

The only tip I could offer is to note the location of the "baby stations" in any parks you go to so you can make good use of them.

Welcome Home! It's actually easier to travel with an infant than older kids. Just remember to get AP's, and then go to the parks for a couple hours, and then head back to the hotel for a swim (older kids) and a nap (the baby). The trick is to do this before anyone is tired and crying, so no one is short-tempered. My kids are now 25 and 28, and I still remember walking back and forth at Contemporary Resort-- the 4th floor, rocking my DD to sleep while DH and older DD shopped in the other stores! DD and I were nice and cool, and Dad and DD were having a grand time! ;)

What fantastic news on your family front! Congrats and Welcome Home to you and your new addition!!!

We will be going in December with a 7 weeks old and I am looking forward to doing lots of down time things, strolling the different resorts to see the decorations, etc. My older sons and hubby will spend a good bit of time at the parks I am sure, so the baby and I will go along as she sees fit :). I am hoping for a Minnie girl since all I have right now are Buzz Lightyear kinda boys pirate: , so hopefully, she will be the kind of little one that enjoys the parks (at this young age, it shouldn't matter I know) so we can all do some things together. If not, down time for me and the little one would suit me just fine :cloud9:

Congratulations on your new baby and welcome home! We took our 9 mos old with us on our first trip and were fine. There are wonderful baby care centers at each park so you'll be fine, just dont forget to child swap here and there so you can enjoy a few rides. There are many nice little rides you can take the baby on.

Thank you for all the kind "Congrats" and "Welcome Homes"! We are so excited to join this wonderful group of folks in the DVC community!

Right now I'm hoping that DH will get back in time from his business trip to make the birthin' of this baby.... I think labor is coming on... yikes!!! :rolleyes1

Welcome Home! ANd Congratulations!!! It'll probably be easier because the baby will still be sleeping a lot. Now that you know you'll be going for years to come..the pressure is off so you can relax more. We only go to 2 parks per year. If we want more then we do it, but there so soo much to do down there other than the parks. Make sure to take the Baby Bjorn carrier. When my youngest was 4 months we toted her all around NYC (Not a stroller friendly place). I don't know how hot it is when you are going but a clip on stroller fan would keep the baby from getting too overheated. You can get 2; 1 for the baby and 1 for whoever is pushing the baby! Or both for the baby! Best Wishes!
