we stayed at Ron Juan Resort

berly1657- You mentioned that you ate at the onsite restaurant. Do you know what time they are open until? In addition, what kind of food did they serve and was the price reasonable?

I just booked a one bedroom suite yesterday for our pre-cruise time in August and the best rate I could get was 142.50 plus tax/night. This seems higher than what other people were getting. The gal who took my reservation said it was because it was "high" season. That rate was with the code 102 discount also. Can anyone else confirm this?

That's what I'm paying for Thanksgiving and Black Friday nights.

scottie

dinner was about $12-15 a plate, sandwiches under $9. The service was great - excellant. We didn't get to the resort until 9:30pm and they were still serving, they have a bar too which my husband closed down one night...

I booked a couple weeks ago for June w/ the Code 102 also. Was not told by Tuesday that you needed to actually show the coupon. I don't have one so hope they don't ask for it when we arrive. I will show them my reservation and who I booked w/ and hopefully they will not question it. Also, I have already paid the discounted rate for the first night on my card so hopefully that is it.

berly....can you also eat breakfast at the onsite restaurant? I was told by one employee there that there is no place to get breakfast...how odd. Is this true and is that the only place to get food at the resort?

i don't know if they have breakfast? I think we thought we would save a few $'s and eat off site. there are other restaurants w/i 10 minutes - skipping portside galley.....

We also booked a studio for July using code 102 and Melissa did not mention anything about bringing the coupon!! I hope we don't need it also!! Where was that code 102 from??? Thanks!!

I believe code 102 came from the Florida Travel Magazine. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

If you follow the link from candlestix (thank-you:wave2: ) you can also order the magazine for $14.95. I think I will as I will enjoy reading it, and I will still come out ahead on the price of the room. :)

Has anyone gotten a written reservation yet? I thought that they were mailing it, but I haven't received anything. I made mine at least a month ago.

I Got my reservation info in the mail w/in the week of booking it. You should call to make sure they have your reservation.

I just ordered just the Jan/ Feb Florida Travel magazine for $4.95. That way I know I have the coupon just in case. I did not have to order the entire year.:D

Hi all, Made reservations last week for a 2 bedroom unit and just received the confirmation in the mail. Is poolside near the main bldg. or lobby? Is there anywhere on the internet that shows the resorts layout? Thnxs.

Hi this is Shirley and I just came from "inspecting" Ron Jon's - OMG ----what a place - I saw the slide for the children and I wanted to go on it looked like so much fun - I picked up a "welcome packet" from them and it has a few things in it - they have what is called "Penpals childcare and fun center" the rates are $8.00 for one child per hour, $9.00 per hour for 2 children and $10.00 per hour for 3 children - $1.00 more for each addtional child - the ages are from 0 to 12 years old - 24 hours advance reservations are required. they do not have plans for a shuttle to the port but they have Travelynx there which will take you anywhere and pick you up anywhere for $5.00 a person - they also offer Massages by Morakot at the fitness center on the 2nd floor - ranges from $45.00 on up to $110.00 - the advertise also body wraps, stone massage, parafango and cellulite reductions (that I should look into for myself) - they do offer special discount for members and guests. Also offered is a complimentary facial and makeover by Debbie grant - (sounds good to me)
The lobby is not only beautiful but very clean looking - I was very impressed. Would I stay there? Yes I would especially if I had children - am I against the Radisson NOPE - cause they still are closer to anything around and they do offer the shuttle so it is a toss up.
Anyhow just wanted to let you know what I found out - also you can still use the code #300 if you call in for reservations.
Hoped this helped.
Always
Shirley

cruise 45,

Poolside is the main building and lobby. I believe the building on the ocean is for time share guest or 1 week or longer guests. You will prefer being in the poolside building...

A note to all of you - when you go in the parking ramp - it does not go through - if it is full, you will have to back all the way out. We found this odd?

Enjoy your stay!

Thank you very much...This will be great for the kids. Is the movie theater, game room and restaurant in this section?

TIA

Where did you find this? I'd like to subscribe to the magazine and would like to get an issue before I commit.
