We should start a Disneyland Cake Thread

I don't know about before you arrive but you can set up a time with room service call vacation planning to know for sure.

We had a double birthday party at Goofy's Kitchen for DD and my nephew. We had a big group, so we ordered 2 10" cakes.

This one was chocolate cake, with chocolate ganache frosting, and whipped cream filling. It was super yummy! We got the Mickey and Friends edible image on it.

When I called to order the cakes, the lady on the phone said that they didn't have any Tinker Bell sugar figures or decorations, so we just had them put flowers on it, and we brought our own plastic fairies to stick on the cake. It was a white cake with buttercream frosting, and raspberries with white chocolate mousse filling. The buttercream frosting was ok (I've had better), but the raspberry filling was absolutely amazing! It was filled with tons of whole, fresh raspberries. Everyone agreed that was their favorite part.

I thought the Mickey sprinkles were too cute!

The only issue we had was they had a hard time locating our cakes at the restaurant, so by the time they brought them out everyone had already pigged out at the dessert buffet :rotfl:. Oh well, we got boxes for them and were able to take them with us. Overall I thought it was really fun to order a cake, and they were good.

After I told the waiter we were ready for our cake both sons and my nephew went for a marathon bathroom trip :rotfl: we just sat there waiting and waiting...I didnt want the surprise to be ruined!

My Mom's birthday is coming up next month. You don't need to know how old she is turning, hehe. :P But I want to do something SPECIAL for her. We are planning to stay in Anaheim for 2 nights. I want to surprise her with a stay at the Disneyland Hotel on the night of her birthday (our second night there). I think a cake would also be a special treat for her.

It will just be the two of us, so I'll be funding all of this. It's expensive but worth it, to give my Mom something special and fun.

I don't know what kind of cake she would like most, so I made up a scenario that I have to order a cake for a co-workers birthday and I needed her input. :P Hopefully she will tell me her favorite combination then I can order that!! Hehe.

Well, sadly, DL screwed up my DS' birthday cake for the second year in a row!

It was supposed to have vanilla custard and strawberry fillings. We received whipped cream. It had zero decoration on top except some cakewrecks.com worthy green "Happy birthday, J." writing crammed in approximately 1/4 of the surface area of the cake top surface, almost like there was supposed to be more decoration and they forgot. There were some green icing scallops and a few chocolate disks around the outside.

This, after two phone calls to confirm the details. :sad1: It was delivered to our GC room while we were out, otherwise I would have refused delivery on it based purely on the horrible decoration job. To find out it wasn't the cake we ordered was just icing on top (;) pun intended)

It tasted yummy (though it was composed of flavors my picky DH won't touch so much of it was thrown away) but I am finished throwing my money at something they have repeatedly failed at. If they want to play roulette and force you to accept whatever cake they feel like making, they should just say so. In any case, their customer service with cakes stinks.

(The trip was otherwise great and the GCH was indeed "Grand" and puts the WDW deluxes to shame in terms of service!)

Anyone have recent cakes to share? I would love to order one as a surprise for my sister!

Wow what a great thread! :goodvibes How did this one get forgotten? :confused3

I called yesterday and booked a cake for my dd 10th bday on June 27th. I asked for chocolate, with chocolate ganache center, buttercream icing, 6" round $39. I asked for tinkerbell, pink and very girly. I will post a pic after the 27th. Hoping they get it right:goodvibes

I also ordered one for my sisters birthday on July 2nd at Napa rose. When I ordered the cake the castmember told me they were not as personalized as in years past. They had 3 options: a Mickey/Minnie cake shaped in the ears. Princess cakes. Or round or sheet cakes (depending on size) with a choice of, I think about, 20 characters.
The latter is what I ordered. Chocolate cake with chocolate ganach filling and whipped cream frosting and Buzz Lightyear (my sisters favorite movie is toy story).
I will post pictures once I get back.

What is the cost of these super awesome cakes? The small ones can't be $16 like it lists earlier, can they? I assume those cheap prices are just for a basic cake, not these custom ones. What's the going price for a small (feeds 4 people) custom cake?

I think the smallest cake was the one I got that feeds 6-8 people. Mine cost $32.

So its not a birthday cake but I loved our anniversary party cake so much I have to share it. It cost almost as much as the brunch for 20 people at Steakhouse 55 but was so tasty it was worth every penny.
The bottom layer was white cake with strawberries and cream in the center, the top layer was chocolate with strawberries and mousse in the center. Apparently the fondant was what made it $$$ but we really loved the design.

I'm really interested in ordering a cake for my DH's 35th bday. Can someone tell me if I can order a small custom cake with fondant? If so more details? PLEASE! 2 weeks to go. YAY!!:wizard:

Yes, fondant was one of the options for my small cake. Call to speak to a castmember, they are almost always helpful!

Bumping , any recent cakes ordered or price info? My next B-day is a big one :scared1: and my sons want to order me a cake :woohoo:
