We should start a Disneyland Cake Thread

I think I will surprise DH with a cake for our anniversary dinner. These look so yummy! All the prices that I see say you can't get chocolate figures on a cake that is 6". Can you order these separately? I don't need them on the cake, but maybe on the side? Just curious! I emailed VP, so hopefully they'll be able to answer these questions too.

yet another bump ........i may be ordering one again trying to get some family to meet us for dinner too much cake for 3 people

Hi,
I'm staying at the GC and really want a Disney cake but it's just me on this trip. Do they offer a mini castle cake like WDW do but of Sleeping Beauty's Castle?
Thanks

Here is a picture of my son's cake. We were there last month and ate at Goofy's Kitchen...

Does anyone have the current cake flavor option and price list? If you'll PM me, I will send you my email addy.

(WDW had a significant price increase on cakes in the past 6 months. Did DLR follow suit? That is my main concern.)

It seems that, perhaps, GC pastry chefs allow for a little more input as to decoration from customers? Last year we got my sons' birthday cake at Goody's Kitchen and it had butterflies on it ... LOL, not a big deal, but I was told specifically that I had to leave it up to the chefs' imaginations when I ordered it. I guess two little boys with very traditional male names meant "butterflies" in that particular chef's mind!

This time we're staying at GCH and I am excited to get a cake delivered to our room!

This is the thread I was looking for, thank you all for bumping it up .... BTW, I just sent you a pm jenjersnap (I hope I did it correctly). I just received the updated amenities list for our stay at GC in December and would love to share but am not sure how to attach pdf to this thread. :surfweb:

OMG you should have seen the cake the grand did for our 10 anniversary. I wanted romantic tied more into sleeping beauty/cinderella. Something wow. Well they accidently put it on a silver cake stand which they said just drop it back off. OMG it weighed 15lbs, and it was for 10 people. 2 tiers stacked molded sugar castle topprr it's in my curio. Here is the wow they put the snow white prince waking her scene on top tier. not a big snow fan BUT the picture kept changing colors. They built a light into it where it would keep changing. It blew my mind and those who saw it. It was UNIQUE to say the least. They designed it, so it was a surprise. I do know the GCH guy who carried it his arms were shaking when he sat it down it was so heavy.

I ordered a cake with Disney Dining last year, for a special egg free cake. And, they did deliver it to the carnation cafe.

I ordered a 10 inch vanilla cake with vanilla custard and strawberries and ganache for my DS's bday celebration. I didn't specify decoration, just asked for something festive for a boy. Can't wait to share pics!

(Fingers crossed that GCH gets the order correct ... this is similar to the cake I ordered last year at Goofy's and it was missing the strawberries and "festive for boy" apparently, to a pastry chef at DLH, means butterflies and ribbons! :lmao: It was still yummy!)

Can you have a cake delivered to White Water Snacks in the GC hotel? Or does it have to be a sit down restaurant? My upcoming trip will be a penny pincher and we will not be eating any TS meals. Although, I have considered eating at Storytellers Cafe and only ordering appetizers, then having the b-day cake.

Excellent idea. My brother had a birthday booked there and we had a special visit from Mickey and Minnie. We made our own cakes as well. Will come back with photos :rotfl:

.....this was at Storytellers? Do they only have characters at breakfast?

Out of all the cakes you have received, which tasted the best? I am trying to decide what to order myself. I am leaning toward chocolate cake, white chocolate mousse filling, and buttercream icing.

here's the latest cake pics!

I thought the butter cream was sooo good, but the boys and I agree the choc ganache was even better . I would order the first cake again in a heartbeat. The second cake was pretty but not as good , a bit too rich maybe.
