~We seldom report of having eaten too little~ w/ PICS! ~ UPDATE: New Thread Started!

just finished all your reviews! So is flying out of Buffalo better than Pearson? My first few trips to disney we flew out of pearson and it took foreverrr!! So now that ottawa is cheaper to fly out of from entering the airport to sitting at the gate waiting for our airplane it takes 15 minutes ... isnt that crazy in comparison!

I just had to say love reading another canadian reviews, especially of Le Cellier... though I think Le Cellier needs to serve poutine and beaver tails to be Canadian.. but thats just me!:)
Great reviews!

Great reviews!

Flying out of Pearson is so agrivating and SOOOO expensive! The only time we ever fly out of Pearson is if we are using aeroplan miles or flying overseas.

I've never flown out of Ottawa, good to know that it is more manageable!

Flying out of Buffalo is a dream. It is a very small airport, 20 or so gates. It takes literally 15 minutes from your car, to check-in, drop bags, clear security and get to your gate. I'd say every other person flying out of there has a Canadian passport! :lmao:

Plus it is MUCH less expensive! Our southwest airlines direct flight cost $540 TOTAL for 3 adults...that's $180/person with taxes etc. At Pearson the TAXES per person are often $200! :scared1:

Thanks for reading :goodvibes It's always nice to hear from other Canadian DISers!

cant wait to hear about everything! :) have a great time!

Thanks! I'm getting soooo excited! I cannot believe how fast this trip is coming up.

I might see you briefly at CSR! If not, I'll be following along on your Dining report when I get back :)

Oh, and I totally get what you mean about people flying from Buffalo! Every now and then the fares from Buffalo are a lot better than Rochester (usually when I try to fly to Chicago, idk why!) so I'll fly out of there. Whenever I park my car and take the shuttle in, it's always people from Canada on that shuttle! :lmao: I don't think I've ever met a person from Buffalo at the Buffalo airport!!!

Cool! I don't wear a lime green mickey head :lmao: but it would be nice to run into each other!

Buffalo is fantastic! Compared to flying out of Toronto it is effortless :thumbsup2

Leaving in T-minus 8 hours and counting!!

My god it's going to be hard to focus on work today :rotfl: thankfully we are finishing up packing for the move, lunch is at 1 and we are having a party at 2. If I'm lucky I'll get out of here before 4:30 :wizard:

*pulls out checklist*
  • Suitcase packed (clothes)
  • Toiletries packed
  • Carry-on packed
  • Confirmations printed
  • Disney binder assembled
  • Checked-in for Southwest flight
  • Checked weather
  • Checked TODAY'S flight status
  • Passport
  • NEXUS card (best investment EVER!)
  • US Cash
  • GLASSES (I always forget these because I wear contacts lol)
  • Confirmed ADRs on WDW website
  • Pray for the day to GO FASTER!! ;)
  • Listen to sorcerer radio and mouseworld radio on live 365 :thumbsup2

It also doesn't help that I'm super hungry and all I can think about is my dinner at cracker barrel tonight. You know you are a DISer when you check menus for NON-Disney restaurants and contemplate what you might order :rolleyes1

As of right now I'm thinking....pancakes, hashbrown caserole, country ham and biscuits. Mmmm....I swear I'm a southern girl at heart even though I'm from the "great white north" (yay Canada!)

I was also going through my list of things I've never done that I want to attempt this trip:
  1. Go inside the Temple of Heaven in China
  2. See Reflections of China!
  3. Try Primeval Whirl
  4. See Finding Nemo The Musical
  5. Try a Dole Whip Float! (I've only ever had the soft serve)
  6. Try School Bread and Rice Cream (DMom will love the first and DDad the second!)

Does anyone have any picture requests? Like Main Street Confectionary, Main St. Bakery, Goofy's, the Villians Candy Shop at DHS etc..?

Bon Voyage, here's some pixiedust: for your trip! Have a wonderful time.

I would like a pic of the entrance to CSR, thanks.

Hi everyone!

I'm in Buffalo for the evening. We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and as always it was great. No pictures, sorry!

I had the pancakes (which were perfect) with a side of country ham and hashbrowns.

DDad had the Sunrise Sampler - two eggs scrambled, biscuits, country ham, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and fried apples.

DMom had the grilled chicken pineapple salad.

It was $35 all together and it was a perfect start to our vacation.

Now I'm off to bed as I have to be up at 4am :scared1:

okay I have to ask whats this nexus card I go to the states about 5 or 6 times a year and I never quite understood the Nexus card :)

I've just had a sneak peak at your live reports - all that food made me super hungry :rotfl:

FYI I know Lamingtons are some kind of sweet/dessert item from Oz - never had one though.

We will also be at the World end of Sept and we can't wait to try the F&W booths :cool1: In our past trips I've never taken pics of these so I may show our friends the links to your pics from 2006 so they have an idea of the size. I am in the process of entering all the booths / food offerings / wines and drinks into a spreadsheet so we can all choose the ones we really want to try and take a printed copy with us  I would hate to miss something (as I always seem to do and then I come on the boards and everyone else has tried it :headache:)

Can't wait to hear more :woohoo:

YAY! I love love love your food reports and can't wait to enjoy this one while waiting on my trip to get here....just 22 days and 13 hours till its the day we leave! Have a great trip! We will overlap vacations a bit in September but I don't think you get to CSR till we are gone.

Can't wait until the review of Chefs de France. In case you haven't had a chance to check out the CSR thread, I'm "coming home." We were able to book a three night stay with the special $96 rate at a moderate prior to heading to Marco Island. We were able to book Chefs de France for our Epcot day. :woohoo:

What a wonderful first day.:cloud9: All the food looks great, especially the Kona Cafe. Mmmm lapu lapu.

What I want to know is whether or not that giant Mickey rice krispie treat is for sale and just how much moolah it costs? :rotfl2:

Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes
