And no, I'm not referring to catching a glimpse of myself when I walked past a mirror while wearing my bathing suit. ;)

We were having a fantastic brunch at Palo's when we noticed everyone looking out the windows. Sure enough, you could see the whale creating a water spout out in the distance everytime it surfaced for air.

Very cool. Now back to cruizin I go..............:smooth:

How Cool!!! Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!!

How cool is that ?

What a trip you are having!!!!!!

I would LOVE to see a whale, or even a dolphin on one of my cruises. Which sailing are you on?

excellent! Are you on the Eastern, and where about's are you?

Wow......I would love to see a whale while on a cruise.
We seen dolphins from our balcony in 1998 after we sailed out of miami (different cruise line) There was six of them.

Do you know what kind it was?
Have a great trip!

Oh wow !!! That was so cool.

The best I've ever done is snapping a phote of a shark while snorkeling Serenity Bay, but I've seen sharks before. I've only seen whales on TV.

Friday morning (Jan 9) as we were approaching Castaway Cay, I was standing on the Verandah just enjoying the view and there it was. Off in the distance the blow spout.... I rushed into the cabin to grab the camera... and started hunting for it again when I found it again towards the stern in our wake a blowspout snap with the camera wheee got the blows spout on film but not the pesky whale he/she refused to show him/herself. So I put the camera away and return to the verandah in time to spot another whale in the distance toward the bow of the ship. This one decided to deep dive so I did get to see his/her tail as he/she dove. WAY TOO COOL!!!!!
I had hoped to see dolphins and/or whales and I was not dissapointed. We ended up being late to meet the rest of our family for breakfast because of the whales but we arrived in time to watch the ship turn aand see Castaway Cay as we docked.

I don't know what kind of whale it was. It was too far away to tell but it was very cool.

Word spread about it. Next thing you know, the rails surrounding Palo were lined with pesky tourists.;) ;) ;)

It was a most magical moment.:D

We saw whales one year in Hawaii. They are awesome to watch.

Lucky you for seeing one on a Disney cruise!

Have a great time!

This is why I love the verandah's. Last August we saw dolphins and sea turtles dong the baack stroke as we sipped our coffee.

Does it get any better than that?????

I haven't seen a dolphin or whale, but one morning I was on our verandah and saw some type of very large sea creature jump out of the water. It was fishlike and definitely not a dolphin, but not big enough for a whale. I don't know what it was but it was very cool.

That is soooo cool. I am amazed at what lenghts Disney will go to make your cruise magical. But to hire whales that is something else.:teeth:

We also saw dolphins off our verandah on the appoach to Castawy Cay. Must be a prime fishing area for whales and dolphins.

Thanks for the infomation on the whales. Will watch for more wild life on our next cruise.

Enjoy yours.

Barb, It is very likely you saw a Sunfish. Not like the little ones in ponds but a huge Ocean going one. They are very strange looking with a huge fin on its dorsal side and one on its belly. They cruise by the surface and jump frequently. We saw one when fishing off Ocean City MD.

Congrats on the whale sighting. We'll keep our eyes out on our cruise on the Wonder mid march. We did see flying fish on our last cruise back in June. They were pretty cool also.
