We Opened Magic Kingdom With MICKEY! The Princesses First Trip 10/17/09-10/24/09

I suppose that it is about time that I wrap this report up!

When I last left off we had just finished our yummy lunch at LeCellier. Our pass for the Kim Possible mission led us to Italy. The assignment we were given was to go to Japan. This was a little annoying since we had passed Japan on the way to Italy. On most days this wouldn't have bothered me, but today was hot! The mission was really fun. When we finished we asked Erin if she wanted to do another, but she was ready to go to DTD for some shopping. We had kept the kids out of the shops for the most part to eliminate the "I want thats" all week. She was ready to spend some money!

On the way out we decided we would use our fast passes from earlier in the day when Test Track went down. Erin and I took forever! By the time we got back to Stu and Ava, Stu was pretty much having a melt down. He decided he wasn't willing to wait that long to go again, so we headed out.

For some reason I thought there would be a direct bus to DTD from Epcot, but there wasn't. We decided to take the bus to Port Orleans French Quarter and we would switch buses there. We quickly arrived at POFQ and sat down to wait. While I was waiting I pulled my phone out to check a message. This will come into play later.

When we arrived at DTD we went to check out the Christmas store first because I love to get ornaments when I travel. Next stop was the pin store so the girls could each choose a pin. After they made their difficult decision we decided to head to the World of Disney. I couldn't believe how busy it was in there. We ran out of time to shop before our dinner reservation and I couldn't find Stu. I went to get my phone out of my bag so I could call him and it wasn't there. I was pretty much in a panic. I finally found Stu and he was talking on his phone. He had tried to call me and someone at POFQ answered. Thankfully someone had turned in my phone, but we would have to go back to get it.

We headed to our dinner at Fultons. We had a nice time, but if I was to go again I think it would be better as a date night meal. The girls enjoyed their dinners, but Stu and I would have liked the opportunity to linger over our dinner.

After dinner we headed back to World of Disney to finish our shopping. We were all getting tired and crabby and we still needed to get my phone. We decided that Stu would go back to get it and the girls and I would take our bags and ourselves back to POP. It was absolute chaos at the bus stop. Thankfully a kind gentleman from South Carolina took the girls and I under his wing. He helped us with our packages and helped me hold on to Ava. He was a life saver.

By the time the girls and I got back to POP Stu was already there! He ended up taking a taxi from POFQ because he didn't want to deal with the hassle of getting back with the bus system.

We headed up to our room to get the girls to bed. We were scheduled to be picked up by Magic Express at 4:45 am! We finished up our packing and hit the sheets ourselves. In the morning (or the middle of the night if you ask me) we headed down to the bus. We were on our way to the airport on time and we quickly arrived at our terminal. Thankfully security was once again a piece of cake. We boarded on time and we were back in Minneapolis a few hours later. Ava insisted that we were still in Florida when we landed because she slept through the whole flight! I wish it worked that way.

The weather back in Minnesota was cold and rainy and it really suited my mood. I was pretty sad wondering when we will be able to go back again. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime with my favorite people in the world.

Top 5 things I was glad I had with:

1. Wet wipes. It is amazing how dirty two little girls can get.
2. Hand sanitizer. Enough said.
3. Lanyards. This was so handy to keep track of FP's and our room cards.
4. PassPorter. This helped me so much to keep organized and it is now a great keepsake as well.
5. Autograph books with clickable Sharpies. The girls still look at these almost daily.

Favorite meals:

1. Ohana. We loved the food here and the atmosphere was fun as well.

2. Akershus. We loved the cold food buffet and the princess interaction was fantastic.

I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed it! The trip far exceeded anything that I expected. It truly was magical.

One of the best TR I have ever read.:)

I guess there is only one more thing:

WHEN IS THE NEXT TRIP!;):)

This is an awesome picture! Her expression says it all. :goodvibes

It's good that finding your phone was easy. A hassle to go get it, but great that you located its whereabouts quickly.

Thanks to people like the man on the bus, who make it easier for families with little ones to survive on some of those chaotic, crowded bus trips. :thumbsup2

That is such a compliment! Stu and I are in discussion mode right now about future trips. I would love to go again in October with Erin and then take a mom and daughter trip with Ava when she is six also. Stu said that was fine as long as I worked extra to pay for it. I wouldn't be surprised if he decided that they should go along as well!

I was very thankful that someone turned in my phone! I don't think that is the way Stu wanted to go about seeing POFQ, but he is a trooper.

The man on the bus will never know what a blessing he was that night. I was almost in tears because I was so stressed out by the crowds in that moment. He certainly saved the evening for me!

I'm so sad that your TR is coming to an end, Heidi!! I have loved reading every bit of it! :goodvibes I loved your final thoughts with your top 5! One quick question--where did you get your lanyard with the plastic pocket to hold your tickets? Is it a Disney one? Was it able to hold all 4 of yours? I kept ours in the front pocket of my purse and I kept checking it to be sure they were still there--I think the lanyard is a great idea!! :thumbsup2

I was able to find the lanyards at Michaels before we went on our trip. I was surprised at the Disney selection that they had. The lanyards all had the different princesses. I got the plastic pocket to attach at an office supply store. Thank you for your kind words. I will be able to follow you on your upcoming trip better now that I have finished my own report!

What a great way to end your TR! I'm sad that you're finished, but looking forward to hearing what you decide about going back. It looked like you guys had so much fun!

I am happy to hear that you have enjoyed the report! I know that I am biased, but I think the girls are pretty cute too! The girls had fun helping me pick out their favorite moments. They had a difficult time narrowing it down to five!

What a wonderful report! Seeing the "Top 5 Moments" brought tears to my eyes - what a very magical vacation, the pictures of your beautiful daughters truly say it all - they are so bright and EXCITED! :cloud9:

The buses from DTD can be a paaaaaaaaaain. I have waited over 40 minutes for a bus there before! Blah! I'm glad to hear you got your phone back so easily! Nice people at the bus stop at POFQ and at DTD! :goodvibes

Thank you so much Brook! The week just came together so magically-tons of pixie dust, fantastic weather, and being with my wonderful family. What more could you ask for?

The buses were definitely a nightmare. I would guess that we waited for about that long that night. Trying to keep the kids in place while keeping all of our purchases in check was not fun! I wish that I knew the names of the gentleman that helped us and the person that turned in my phone so I could personally thank them. They definitely saved the day!

So glad you found your phone! Phew! That was so nice of the man on the bus to help you with the girls.

Loved your wrap-up!

Denise
