We nixed Boardwalk Inn...

I suspect you are not the only Disney guests to do so.

Disney took a chance with that clown. It's sort of a love it or hate it type thing, isn't it?

It's pure unadulterated evil is what it is. I can't imagine seeing one of my children slide out of that wacko's mouth! :scared:

I too have cut the BWI from my selection process based solely on the slide. Too bad, because other than that stupid clown, it looks like a great resort! I had a fear of clowns growing up and although I've long since gotten over that fear, I don't want to chance a relapse with the BWI. :rolleyes1

okay, I am still laughing as that clown scares me as well! We were there in Feb., but it was under construction...which made it look even crazier.

Wow, our grandkids love the slide and the clown, but we would neither choose nor eliminate a resort based on this. I just checked the calendar and it's not April 1 so I guess this is legit.

Totally reasonable! My earliest memory of a nightmare was about a clown. :scared1:

It's legit. Nixed it immediately upon seeing that clown. It petrifies me. I'm dead serious. Look at his eyes. They're just...weird...eerie.

They should have used circles for the eyes, not stars. Most minds perceive it as X's which is the symbol for a dead person. So your mind sees it as a dead clown.

I absolutely hate clowns - I think it stems from when I was much younger and my parents allowed me to watch Poltergeist and It (Stephen King). I have always felt that clowns are evil and this one definitely looks the part! No way would my child be sliding down that slide!!!

We actually are going to try the Boarwalk Inn, but every time we kept comparing the Beach Club, and BWI, we'd keep saying "but that scary clown..." It's definitely a factor.

So, where does one go instead of BW, another Epcot area resort I would hope? I can't imagine leaving the BW area based on this, we've skipped going to WDW when a reasonable Epcot area room wasn't available, and I can't see allowing a cartoon clown to keep us from the best resort location at Disney. Where else can you stay and be able to walk to half of the parks, to say nothing of the BoardWalk itself.

but the resort is great and I've gotten used to the clown. You should try it.

Give me the Beach or Yacht Club.

I am so glad I am not the only one with issues with that clown. Otherwise, it seems like a great resort. Not even if it was free.

Or S/D. Honestly, I've never stayed at BW and don't think I'd like staying there and not because of the clown. It's a great place to visit, which many people do. I prefer a more quiet place and BW isn't that, especially if your room faces the boardwalk. The garden suites look nice, just wish they were elsewhere.

I love the BWI and no clown could keep me away. OP, I'm not sure if this was in jest or not, so the only appropriate response I could think of is in Haiku form:

A scary clown slide
Now face your fears like a man
Slide out of his mouth
