one that you think is fun?

it can be a wii game (the kids don't play with it much so this could be good to get something new)

2 that came to my mind immediately (depending on ages)

Wii- Super mario brothers- can be used with 4 remotes, definitely one of our group favorites

Non-wii
Bananagrams- like scrabble but you make your own individual "board" so you aren't waiting for your turn

Apples to Apples (there is a jr version too)

Yatzee. My 4 year old even likes it.

Blokus-again my 4 year old will play & finally gets it.

All the classics. I think we have at least 30 games in our game closet...at least.

This year I hope my kids get Othello & Stratego for Christmas since we don't have them.

Oh, how about Kerplunk? The game is over in minutes, well our game is over in minutes.

There is a Disney Monopoly board game but we don't have it. Love all the Cranium board games.

Our favorite family Wii game is Boom Blox. All ages can play it.

Our three favorites are Mancala, Blokus and Gobblet. These are games that young children can play with an adult and it's fun for everyone.

For the Wii, I suggest Just Dance or Just Dance2. It gets all ages up & moving.

For board games, my kids will sit (quietly) for hours playing Blokus. Who knew?

DD has Just Dance on her Christmas list.

We all love playing Blokus.

ImaginIF is a BLAST for all ages. It is especially fun for the 10 year old crowd and the over 40 crowed with a lot of good friends, and a little alcohol :lmao: :thumbsup2

Wow - I've gotta write these down - several of tehm I've never heard of! YAY! I'll check them out!

Very popular in our house for all ages for long periods of time:
Goblet
Uno Attack
Whoonu-a really weird game, but for some reason we can't stop playing it

and lately cribbage has been making a comeback with my upper-elementary kids

Wii:
Just Dance and Sports Resort were Christmas gifts last year and the kids, all ages, still play them all the time

I second both Banagrams and Who Nu.

We also really like:
Cranium family Fun
Scattegories
Set
Blink (plays really fast--nice when you just have a few minutes somewhere--we take it when we go out to eat somewhere casual and play while we wait for the food to come)
Lego Creationary
Pictionary
Taboo
Outburst
Mancala
Mexican Train Dominoes
Poker (seriously--the kids have more fun coming up with oddball things to make wild, strange twists on games, etc).
Cards (especially Euchre)

For Wii we mostly like to play Rock Band, Lego Rock Band and Beatles Rock Band together. Everyone is really going things all at the same time which is fun.

You don't say how old the kids are, but we are playing electronic darts at my sisters. It is pretty fun.

For the Wii, we really enjoy Family Game Night. There's something so satisfying about actually watching the Battleships blow up. :lmao: And another vote for Just Dance.

For board games, we play Apples to Apples, Racko, Scrabble, Cranium, etc. My dd is 20 and she still loves to make me play the occasional game of Guess Who? :lmao:

Card games - a new one my DD learned from a friend is called Palace, just use a regular deck of cards. Crazy Eight we have lots of fun with these card games. Love Uno attack, bananagrams and my DD-13 loves playing Candy Land still :rotfl2:

Really now?

I might have to look into that. I love Battleship.;)

The card game Skipbo! Everyone in our extended family loves it. From 8 yr olds, to Aunts and Mom in their 80's.:)

Another vote for Who Nu and Apples to Apples!!

Scattergories is a favorite and Sorry also.

The Cranium games are awesome, especially Cadoo. The games have different games based on age ranges.

Other board games we love are Trouble and Sorry. My dh was going crazy with Trouble, he was bugging us to play everyday for a while. Pictionary & Taboo are great too.

We love Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader. We have it on Wii, DVD, and the board game. We tend to play that as a group.
