We need a Bachelorette thread!

Nick's hometown "date" seemed totally fake to me. My family is all from SE of Milwaukee, and it seems as though an advance scounting crew from the show picked out all the locations that would make for an amusing date.
And Marcus' striptease or Chris' picnic in the middle of a corn field was less fake? I always assumed they scouted out places for the hometown dates and it wasn't totally up to the local person :confused3.

Loved Nick's little sis and LOL about the house. I found it hilarious that she couldn't believe he owned a house. Like OMG. SHUT UP! It's yours?? If he isn't the one, I hope he will be the Bachelor. There has to be some woman out there that wouldn't mind being a homemaker on a farm.

I'd be shocked, too! Like she said most of the guys she knows have apartments like she does. I didn't even THINK to have a house till I had my son. Heck, single guys I know mostly have a room in their Mom's house, living with a woman or 5 guys in an apartment or a condo. They usually want what I call "a MADE nest".

It showed he's settled, gainfully employed and financially stable. I'd jump his back so fast he'd have to have me surgically removed.:rolleyes1

One thing I've always wondered about "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette"-do the producers (or whoever) do any prescreening of the 25 contestants to see if they really WANT to get together with the Bachelor/ette of that season? I always thought it was kind of odd how there are 25 contestants who we assume really want to hook up with the star, but then the star has to pick out who's the best fit. What if it's not vice-versa? In the many seasons I've watched, I think I remember one contestant who chose to leave because he just couldn't see a future with the Bachelorette. I can't remember who it was, but I do remember it was a guy who left.

I remember that Brooks walked out on Desiree, can't remember the reason, though.

Bentley walked out on Ashley, quite rudely if I remember. He was a jerk.

Two women walked out on Juan Pablo, should've been a mass exodus.

In the scene where they are at C Harrison's house grieving after hearing the news, who was outside consoling Andy? Was it Marcus? Whoever it was had his arm around Andi and was consoling her.

Marcus left the room after hearing the news. He seemed visibly more affected than the other guys- he was crying as he went outside. Andi went out to console him. After they sat together for a few moments with their arms around each other, she suggested they go back inside to be with the others.

I remember one or 2 girls very early on refusing the rose and leaving. I believe it was Season 2. The banker guy who was blonde, Aaron? There was a girl (or maybe 2) who told him they weren't feeling the connection after a group date and left.

Ali left Jake during his season.

Besides them, there have been a few guys who have left the Bachelorette. Graham on Deanna's season left. Ed left by choice, but returned later on Jillian's season. Bentley the creep left during Ashley's season, and Brooks left Des. I think those are all the guys and girls who left.

Adding- how could I forget the smart ladies who left Juan Pablo? The whole houseful should have done it!

You know what I just thought of? I heard last week that Andi quit her job to be with her fiancé.

However, since Josh lives in Atlanta and so does Andi, she would not have had to quit her jobif she picked him. This makes me wonder if she really does end up with Nick the snake. As much as she likes Chris and his family, I cannot see her living on a farm. If she picks Nick I will throw something at the TV.

Didn't they say at the beginning of the season that she quit her job in order to be the Bachelorette?

She took a leave of absence with ADA office at first THEN decided that she didn't want to come back.

Here is the listing put up for her vacancy:

Assistant District Attorney
Salary: $57,975

Sorry, that is CRAPPY pay for the amount of money it took to become an attorney. I don't blame her for realizing that being a celebrity (hey, Dancing with the Stars could be in her future) was well worth moving on.

DDIL is an attorney and started out at less than that......she might be a little more now after 5-6 years. And still loans to pay off!

Me too.

(even though I have a suspicion she will pick him - shudder)

I'm can't stand Nick, but I think his kisses are very slow and seductive and this is what draws Andi in. I really like Chris but his kisses seem way too fast. He needs to slow down a bit.

I want a man who's a farm hand
I want a lover who can clear some brush
I want somebody who's not afraid of grime
Then enjoys a steamy shower very much
I want somebody who will understand
When it comes to love, I want a farm hand

I'd like to see Chris win, because I don't want to see what I suspect is going to happen. I suspect he's winning the sympathy vote (Awww! He's such a nice guy and deserves someone nice!) so he'll be the next bachelor.

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I have yet to watch the hometown dates episode but from the previews and what I read here, I really hope they didn't portray Iowa as some backwards hicksville. I live about 75 miles from Chris and yes, we're not a booming metropolis but we certainly have cable, air conditioning, even the Internet! Oh my! :rotfl2: Are there as many career opportunities as in a big city? No, but it's a totally different way of life. Slower and in my opinion, more family oriented. OK, off my "I like living in a smaller area" soapbox. :dance3:

I do really like Chris, and echo you all that I hope he is the next Bachelor. If he owns his family farm (or is a part owner or going to purchase it in the future) he is $$$$. Some people picture farmers as these little old guys in overalls but around here, most of the people that own large farms are doing VERY well financially.

Now of course that's not ALL farmers, but from what I can tell by the little I saw, he was doing pretty well land-wise.

Nick is SMARMY. What a loon. I watched a few episodes in a row this week and what I cannot get over - he seems to always be looking past or to the side of Andi. He doesn't seem really present, to me. But of course she loves that he kisses her every 10 seconds. Blech. Lady, making out is a blast to be sure but you have to have something else to do for the remaining 23 hours in a day. Such as carry on a decent conversation. :headache:

Love it!

And if Andi doesn't choose Chris in the end, maybe one of the Pointer Sisters wants him. :lmao:

I'm sitting here SINGING this now!!! :p

The farmhand song is so funny! Love it!

Did anyone else notice that Nick's little sister had a written out list of questions to ask Andi? And then Nick went back to talk to little sister to see how Andi answered his, oops, I mean her questions? Yuck! He is such a player.
